I awoke on cold grounds, long grass prickling into my checks and wetting me with dew. My muscles felt like they were on fire but I managed to sit myself up. Groaning at the agony in my tendons as I sat up with as little movement as I could muster, cold winds slapping me in the face and a trickle of rain sliding down from the sky and landing on my head. I finally got to my feet after ten minutes of stalling and stumbled around, trying to loosen the weight in my legs.

I inspected the area cautiously; I was in a forest. Brambles, thistles and wild berry bushes were sprouting for miles. The sky was grey and cloudy with no blue and the short trees revealed a dull sun up above as I was inspected the clearing.

No humans or animals were in sight though I figured it wouldn't be for long if I didn't get a move on. I stumbled through the trees hesitantly, reluctant to leave from the place of safety so soon though too frightened to stop. I walked for what seemly like years though was probably minutes, finding a large tree that towered over all the rest. I was tempted to climb it, but my temptation was soon subdued at the screeching of my body to stop. I sat down at the bottom of the trunk in an exhausted manner, hungry though too upset and sore to get anything, not that I would of gone away eating random berries anyway.

A tear formed it way down my cheek though I just barely managed to stop myself from bursting out crying and screaming. The fear of attracting wild animals barely overriding the desire however. I sat weakly with my head in my palms though changed into a more comfortable lying form, the sun was setting and I figured I'd rather be eaten comfortably then not. I closed my eyes and sunk into deep sleep...

Crack!

For what seemed like minutes though evidently was hours, I slept. Being woken up by the sound of thunder and struck lightning as a blister of cold winds and harsh rains slapped me into reality. My body felt slightly more healed so I moved to a dryer part underneath the tree, still getting pelted with tiny drops of water though not as intensely as before. I curled closer into a ball though still shivering as the raging storm continued on for hours, only managing to keep myself from drifting off and dying in my sleep. In those hours I repeated the same questions over and over again to myself.

Where am I? Why am I here? How did I get here?

The questions adapted and rang through my mind. I suddenly felt a soul wrenching need to see my friends and family; mum, dad... brother, Sasha. I needed them all so badly right now.

I tried to push them and all my questions away, though they'd appear back again in different forms. Eventually I just muted my mind entirely and fell into a near sleep state, making the mistake one too many times to blink for a second extra. It all weighed on me however and my eyes suddenly shut off in their own. I had a very rough sleep.

Bam!

Once again I was awoken, this time more startled however as a large branch fell from the tree who's roots I was sitting at and landed an inch from my feet. Making me gasp and pull backwards in shock. After a moment of recovery I got up reluctantly and walked away from the tree and back into the woodland area, biting my lip at every agonising step until I finally reached a small wooden house.

I went inside the creaky door and inspected the area; a wooden desk with radio and a single red bed. It was all there was to it.

I sat down on the bed and fell asleep, just unable to resist myself against the thought of sleep as I dug into the sweat red sheets and closed my eyes. Awakening after about five to eight hours later when a bear stood at the door, shocking me into reality immediately.

I screamed and dove through the window. Instantly collapsing on the floor outside and in too much pain to get up. The bear hovered over me and I closed my eyes, knowing this was the end. I was lifted off the ground however and taken back inside, I still didn't dare to open my eyes yet I felt the thinnest layer of calmness surge over me. My eyes drifted off again and I slept for what felt like the last time.
