I Don't Know.

I counted about 10 students including myself, forming a circle around Axel. The number was rather surprising. 10 didn't students weren't sufficient in my opinion, especially since they rushed the date of the test a day earlier. The date's been pinned down on several announcement boards throughout the kingdom. We took matters like this seriously, especially since we were responsible for the defense system.

The first day I arrived in the field that I now grew quite familiar with, there were probably 30 of us. The faces I now saw were still unfamiliar to me, apart from Emily and Axel's ones.

God, they both had such magical faces. One had a face I'd always wanted, while the other...had a face I wouldn't mind rubbing mine against.

        'Wait, what?'

I dismissed the thought and tried to pay attention to what Axel was saying. I hated myself a lot for thinking about the most disturbing and useless things when I needed the focus. We locked eyes for awhile before he looked away. He cleared his throat. "Charlotte, would you mind repeating what I just said earlier?"

My cheeks flushed red in embarrassment as I felt all eleven pairs of eyes on me. Axel chuckled, so did the others. "Would you mind doing the same, Mr. Davids?"

Apparently the boy who sat in front of me who aced the test perfectly (if how strong the arrows were pierced into the board didn't count) had the surname 'Davids'. He begun to stammer and I felt a huge wave of relief when the center of the attention was no longer me. Axel sighed. "Is anyone actually paying attention?"

Axel's eyes landed on Emily. Emily rolled her eyes, the sunlight making her dark brown eyes look slightly lighter. "You were talking about positions. Since you noticed that all of us here are right handed because we hold our bows with our left hands. We should stand with our left side toward the target, then stand at a right angle to the target with the tips of our toes against an imaginary line pointing towards the center of the target.

We should also make sure that we hear a snap before launching the arrow, signifying that the arrow and the string are both connected. After a snap is heard, hook the nock with your index finger on the top, and your middle and ring finger on the bottom. Hook your string  on the slot of the nock. Get a grip tight on the bow and make sure your arrow points to the target. Relax your fingers a bit. The back of your hand should make a 45 degree angle."

Everyone stared at her with their jaws dropped, except for Axel. "Good job, Ms.-"

"Please, don't," Emily pressed. "Fine. Good job, Emily. All of you here should already understand the arrow references that were in Emily's explanation. If you don't, then good luck figuring out yourselves," he said bluntly. "I'm not sure if you're catching up or not, but I'm going to continue explaining anyway."

None of us dared to object, even though I saw a few confused looks. A brunette raised her shoulders at me. I pretended not to see her and averted my attention to Axel. "I know it sounds boring, but it isn't as hard and complicated as Emily made it sound."

I rolled my eyes. 'Isn't as hard and complicated' my ass.

Axel went on about bow arms and a lot of other things that didn't really catch my attention. After what felt like forever, we were dismissed by three magical words: "Is everything clear?" I immediately perked my head up from all the grass I've plucked out due to my lack of interest on this matter.

Axel didn't wait for our answers and got up. "If you don't, then try shooting and coming up with your own technique, that works too."
