Later that day, Michael was sitting with Ryan, who was fixing a rip on his shoulder. Ryan was rambling away, but Michael could only focus on his encounter with Gavin earlier in the day.
Michael was wondering what Gavin was doing when Ryan tugged the last stitch through.
"Michael! Were you listening?"
"Yes, I was..."
"Alright, but you need to watch it. Outside is dangerous and I just don't want you to get hurt."
"Yeah, I know."
"It's just a phase, my dear, it'll pass, it'll pass."
Michael stood up, "you've told me before," he said with a smile.
Ryan grumbled and started putting away his needle and thread so Michael left the room.
