Chapter 33: Painful life

It was finally the day I had to start my first therapy here. Lord knows how scared I was , like what if I won't walk again and im like this for the rest of my life . I was in the hospital room with August laying behind me , my mamma and well step dad , and with the boys all balled up around my bed. Basically the room was packed . As soon as I tried to sit up , August was pulling me down beside him

"..can you stop..moving" he said , groaning

"Can you wake up now?" I asked . I looked at the time and it was 9:45 which means I have about 4 more hours until my first therapy . I'm so scared , but I hope its "normal" to be scared the first time. While everyone was sleep still, there was a knock at the door .

Come in!" I yelled . It was my favorite nurse Mrs.Shale. When she walked in she just seen bodies on the cold floor still sleeping

"What happened in here?"She whispered , laughing a little

"I don't know myself , I thought they left but , seems like they went to sleep on the floor" I told her

"How you feeling?" She asked , feeling my forehead

"Sad , upset , depressed" I told honestly , taking a deep breath

"Well it will get better , just know it may take some time , but it will get better. I also came to tell you that your therapy is today at 1 pm" she said , causing me to get chills

"Is it normal to be scared on the first day?" I asked her

"Most people are scared , but nothing is wrong with that because your doing something new right? So being nervous about something new is ok" she said ,making me loose a little anxiousness

Then , people started waking up which caused Mrs.Shale and I to look up. The boys was stretching up off the floor .

"Well, whenever your ready to order breakfast , ring me" she said

"OK , I will" I told her , but then I realized I had to pee

"..Wait wait. I gotta use the bathroom" I told her before she left

"August . wake up.. Like now" I told him , shaking him to wake up

"..five more..min.."

"No wake up now, I gotta pee" I said pushing in head up . he groaned and got up , rubbing his eyes.

"..y'all..we gotta get.. Out" August said, dragging his body to wake up the others . I really had to pee so I just start yelling

"CAN EVERYONE PLEASE GET OUT . I HAVE TO TINKLE" Yelling, it caused everyone to groan and wake up . Chris dragged exhausted and sleepy Corey across the floor which was kinda funny . They finally got out and stood outside the door.

"Well that helped" she said as she was getting my wheelchair , causing both of us to laugh

She got me out my bed and on my wheelchair. It still hurts me that it happened to me. Why me? What did I do to deserve this type of pain? We finally get to the bathroom and she helps me on the toilet .

After done using the bathroom and washing my hands, she helps me back on my bed . She walks to the door and tells everyone that they can come back in. Everyone comes back here either exhausted or cranky.

"So are u ready to get breakfast?" Mrs.Shale asked

"Yes , I'll have some eggs , cheesy grits , sausage , and Bacon with apple juice please . "

"Alright , and for everyone else , you will have to go upstairs to the cafe and get your food from there"

"We can't order it with hers" Chris asked

"Nope , but its only for the patient" she said , walking out the door

"Well we all need to go get our food now people" Troy said , causing everyone to get up

Everyone was heading out the door except for Rayman

"Aye Rayman u coming?" Chris asked him

"Ill be down there in a little, y'all go ahead" he said , getting up

"How you feeling" he asked me walking over to my bed

"Like straight crap. I can't even function anymore" I said which makes my eyes water

"Hey , your gonna wall again one day . I got shot in the chest at 16 and was gonna die until they shocked me back to life. I wasn't going to go down without a fight. So if I can do it at 16 and walk strong again, then you can do it at 18" He said making him wipe my face

" I know but life feels hard now ." I said taking a deep breath

" ..and if nobody not gonna be on your boat and help u when it sinks , you got me to help you"

"Thanks . I just love how you automatically take me in as a little sister" I said

"I never got a chance to meet my little sister, she was kidnapped and to this day I'm still looking slowly but surely"

"What's her name" I asked

"Kailei Hope" he said with a face that showed a little of hope

" It's alright ,one day you'll find her . one way or another . Now I want a hug and u go get your food... Can hear to stomach from here" I told him , cracking a smile on his face and getting a hug from him.

"Well I'll be back from getting my breakfast" He said heading towards the door . When he opened the door , the nurse was coming in.

"Well . um thanks " she said laughing a little and coming in with my food

She sat me up and placed my bedside table in front of me. She kept me company until everyone else came back to the room .

"Well I guess its time for me to go until I come get you for your therapy. Bye " she said smiling at me and waving while leaving out the door.

We all just sat, watched TV , and kept each other company. We laughed a little at Corey. He always knows how to keep someone smiling in difficult times. If he's not cracking jokes or not messing with you , then something is up. Its good to have alot of "brothers" around me , even though there not blood , they took me in anyway.

Time was winding down and it was finally my first therapy. My anxiety started to build up when Mrs.Shale rolled me to the room and there was a table in there and other equipment. The only people who came with me was my mom , her fiancé , and Rayman. August didn't wanna come because he didn't want to start crying all over again or whatever he said.

"So first what im going to do is lay you out on the table and move your legs around a little." The nurse said as she squat down to tell me

"Its Alright, losen up" She said laying a blanket on the table

"You gone be good, if I can fight , then you can alright. U better get up there and try your best to believe you can walk again" Rayman said as the rest agreed with him.

I can do this . I can do this. I thought to myself. I wasn't going to go down without a fight

OK. So I had writers block and it was horrible. But I got how the book is gonna go so be prepared . I just need days where ima update this book and my other book.
