____________________________________ (Narrator *me*) Meg woke up in the middle of the night, she looked around her room, the dark sky was still up in the atmosphere. She heard a few knocks on the door, Meg got up and opened the door. It was Meg's mother.
Meg sighed. "What now?"
"I have to talk to you." Meg's mom responded, Meg groaned.
"About what?" Meg asked, sitting down in the middle of her bed.
"What did you say to Milo?" Her mother looked pale.
"Nothing. Why?" Meg looked directly at her mom.
"You did, right? Don't lie." The tone in her mother's voice sounded as if she was angry.
"Yes, I did tell Milo about my feelings towards him. And?" Meg started to get annoyed.
Meg's mom gave her daughter a cold look, she grabbed Meg by her wrists. "Why did you do that?!"
"Mom, I'm not keeping secrets away from my best friend. I had to tell him, he also told me that he had feelings for me too." Meg informed her mom.
"I told you--" Meg's mom took a deep breath and held Meg's wrist tightly.
"Keep your mouth shut."
"Mom! Why are you doing this? Why can't I be with Milo?!" Meg started yelling.
"You aren't going to be with Milo. You are going to do what I tell you to do." Meg's mom snapped.
"I'm not going to listen to you." Meg said coldy.
"You are going to whether you like it or not." Her mom loosened her grip.
"You're only going to be Milo's friend, tell him that. If he wants to be with you, I will make him stay away from you." Meg's mom sneered.
"No, please." Meg's voice cracked.
"Then? Don't fail me, don't be more than Milo's friend." Meg stood up and started walking to the door.
Meg's mother stopped at the door and faced Meg. "Remember, keep your mouth shut."
Meg nodded, not saying anything else. Tears streamed down her face. ____________________________________
That night, Meg didn't sleep. The words her mother had said haunted her. Keep your mouth shut. Keep your mouth shut. How was she supposed to keep her mouth shut? Meg tried to keep her questions away from her mind. She tried to sleep, but couldn't.
The morning sky crept up in. Meg closed her eyes, she opened them back up. As soon as her eyes adjusted to the light, she got up. But just to wash her face, she wasn't in the mood to go out. Especially if Milo was there. She didn't want to think about him, keep your mouth shut. That's the only thing she could think of.
