I open my sore eyes, to the soft light of morning. I didn't have a dream....
I usually have nightmares, where I see their chared remains, but last night I was at peace. I sit up slowly, and look around. The sun was just starting to rise, and everything was bathed in blue. I lay in bed for a while, watching the shadows grow longer.
Then I get the urge to get out of bed. That is something that I have not felt in a while. I look around my room, and for the first time I really saw what was there. Ella had bought me a simple blue bedspread, and little nicknaks filled the room. Some where fairies, others were ornamental boxes. On a desk there was the box that held the ashes of my former home, and right beside it was a vase with Calla Lillies. I can tell Ella has been trying her best to make the room feel like home. I go over to the bay window, and curl up at the window bench.
The sun is just rising over the tree line. The tops are tinged with orange and red.
Fire.
I look away hurriedly, and get up. I feel like I need to do something. I make my bed, and straighten up my room.
