Massacres is a term used heavily in the mouths of most politicians, teachers, and gun control activists. Massacres can happen at anytime, anyplace, and to anyone. Some people don't care. Some people don't think it really matters because it sure would never happen to them.
The thing is, it doesn't matter who you are, what you have, or who you know.
There's always that possibility of it being your school.
Someone you love.
Someone you know.
You.
No one thinks it's going to be them. But one day.. it might be..Now, I live in the great state of Texas where the mindset here is, "No one can take my guns away!" Everyone is as stubborn as a donkey on a summer day! What would you rather have? Guns or your children? Or your grandchildren? We live in a society shaped around school shootings and violence and we need to be the generation to stop it.
I understand the right to your guns are important to you. They are to me too. If the economy ever skyrocketed, we'd need guns to hunt and be able to survive. I believe in the amendment that we have the right to our guns. BUT DO WE NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE?
I think we do.
I do,
My future children will,
My best friend does,
My enemy does,
Everyone has the right as a living, breathing human to live. These school shootings aren't just to shoot. There's motives. There's been motives like revenge or jealousy
But there's also people that can't help but do it. Because they're "mentally insane."
I believe we need stricter gun laws. Because it is not the adults shooting up schools. It kids who got the guns from their parents.
Picture this:
One thirteen year old boy walks into his kitchen at midnight. He goes into the refrigerator and grabs a bottle of beer.
What do you think he does with it?
If you're younger than about 20, your first thought goes to 'He's goin to get drunk while his parents are asleep.'
But this child loves to cook, he was just making beer bread.. All the alcohol burns out!
Here's another example:
A person goes into his parents room and grabs a gun and goes outside.
What do you think he does with it?
You think he's going to shoot up a school? Maybe he was rusty on his hunting skills and just wanted to do some target practice!
Two harmless things can be made into something so horrible and terrifying
But that's what we think of. We know nothing different.. our generation is shaped by these shootings. It's shaped by this terrifying situation that the generation that eats Tide Pods for likes and subscribers or who snorts Sharpie so they can get the feeling of being high is trying to fix it. Our generation has messed up our chances.
Maybe if this generation didn't post videos of them eating something that has a very high chance of killing you then maybe just MAYBE the government would do something but our generation is too caught up in the fads and fashions of the world to realize what they're doing decreases their chances of succeeding in their march to end gun violence.Yes, I do believe everyone (at the correct age.) has the right to own guns.. but I also know that every single solitary person on this earth is entitled to their life and we need to have stricter background checks not just of their background with the judge but also of their children's medical(Let me remind you that one of the most recent shootings was a mentally ill teenager who stole the gun from his parents.) and maybe of their drug past because lord knows how drugs can knock you out and do outlandish things to you.
Think about if someone you loved it shot in a school shooting. Or even if no one died, think about the wide spread panic. All the children scared for their lives.
What has this world come to??
This world has come to a place in which people are scared for their lives.
Why?I can guarantee you, if I wanted to obtain a firearm.. I could. If I had the stubbornness and drive to get o e and shoot up a school, I'm going to find a way. That's the mindsets in these people minds. Who cares the motive or how many people where hurt. There was people who got hurt. It doesn't matter if it was one or a hundred and one. IT DOESNT MATTER. There was a life that was lost and can't come back and parents shouldn't have to be worried to send their children to school. For fear they might not return..
