I have two very different takes on this topic.. one for the teachers side and one for the governments side.
1- I believe that certain teachers should be allowed firearms in school. Don't hate on me but I do. But..
2- Some teachers are scared to death of them!
I think the teacher should be okay with it and they should have an immense background check on the teachers that do. On everything.
Medical past
Law past
Even their childhood past
Was there any reported abuse to these teachers? Any from?
Because think of this, if you or someone you know is a school worker, would you rather a shooter come into your class room and you be there like "Don't shoot my babies! Shoot me instead!"
Or..
Stand there facing him/her with a gun pointed to them saying
"Try it and see what happens. Come on buddy. I dare you."
You'd pick the second, right?
If I was a teacher, I feel like I would want to go through the training to be able to protect my students. Of course if one of your fears is guns, there are other teachers that could step up to the plate and handle it. That's just my opinion..
