I live in a town called the moons dwelling its quiet, for the most part, we have an occasional drunken trader who comes by every once in a while, he's a very shady man. The only person who has ever talked to him is the tavern owner which is also my caregiver so to speak. My dads never around and my mom, who the hell knows where she is. She disappeared when I was around five no ones ever seen her since. My dad has been searching for her since she disappeared he thinks she left because of me and sometimes I believe that statement but Arden always tells me that she lost the best thing in the world, love. Arden is the tavern owner or my father figure he always makes me smile even though I know what he says might not be true it still helps me. He used to tell me stories of great warriors when I was younger and I always wanted to become one but Arden said "their just fantasies" and "don't go chasing some impossible story". I think he just says that to keep me around longer but he knows that I don't want to work at the tavern for the rest of my life. He always tells me "why would you want to leave all your friends are here" but truth be told I don't have any I tell him I do just to make him feel better because I don't want him to feel bad for me but he always says "It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not." (the actual quote comes from Andre Gide) When he says that it always hel...

Arden: Y/n I need your help downstairs the tavern is quite crowded because of the storm

Y/n: Okay pop be down in a second

As I closed my journal I ran out of my room and saw Arden

Y/n: Quite crowded is an understatement pop this place is packed. What do you need me to do

Arden: I need you to run the bar I gotta help in the kitchen

After he says this he runs down the stairs and straight into the kitchen. I start heading down the stairs and get behind the counter.

???: Hey can I get a Cherry Tallon down here

Like me, there were others who worked here such as cooks, waiters, and waitresses the one who called me was Dimitri she was probably the second closest to me number one being Ardon we also had Cormac the waiter and Orion the chef. Me and him don't talk too much together.

Y/n: Yeah one second

As I say this I see Cormac spilled a drink on some fancy looking lady and boy is she mad. Cormac is a little cocky with women but he is not much of a lady killer the only female I have ever seen kiss him is his mother I think his sister one time to but that was just a peck on the cheek but he has a good heart.

Cormac: I am so sorry, let me get a napkin for you

As he says this some big guy in armor came up behind him and said "is this guy bothering you"

???: Yes this pest spills a drink on me just to get my attention

Cormac: No ma'am you got it all wrong it was just an accident I swear

Dimitri: Come on Y/n I don't got all day, I need that drink or we are gonna have a bigger problem than some dusty old bat yelling at Cormac

Y/n: Oh yes I'm sorry one Cherry Tallon coming up

As it started to get later into the evening people were ordering rooms to sleep in and pop told me I would have to share a room with Dimitri tonight which wouldn't be the first time we would have to share a room. I stayed up late to help pop clean up the place it got dirty thanks to Cormac but it wasn't the first time we had a fight in this place and definitely will not be the last. After I got done I headed upstairs to go to Dimitri's room and we talked most the night about Cormac getting beat but for the most part, it was a peaceful night.

As Y/n heads to sleep a dark shadowy figure stands on the roof outside the window

???: Soon Y/n you just have to survive a little while longer

A/n: Whelp that's my story tell me what you think I would love the feedback or any suggestions you guys have I would really appreciate it and hope you enjoyed it and as always have a wonderful day :).
