Will

It was the first day of the 'pretend you have a girlfriend' for a week or so. We walked into school this morning holding hands, Lily was waving over the clan who just smiled at us. Up until lunch, everything was subtle but now it was at lunch when everything went wrong, lily was sat next to me, holding my hand under the table and then turned to me and kissed me, on the mouth. I didn't close my eyes because it felt wrong and awkward, making me feel sick. She pulled apart with a small laugh and started speaking to Lucas, from across the room, I saw Mike leaving the lunch area and Jane and Eddie power walking towards me.
Right behind me, I could feel Jane seething in anger, I felt a tap on the shoulder to reveal an red faced girl.
"Can I speak to you? Right now!" Jane stared at me impatiently, hands on her hips with Eddie trailing behind her. I nodded knowing full well this was about Mike, I felt guilt start to rise already. She roughly dragged me outside and folded her arms, Eddie death glared from behind Jane.
"How's your new girlfriend doing, William?" she sarcastically said.
"Look, I'm doing this for Mike's safety."
"Your safety includes breaking his heart? Like I said it would!"
"I had to break his heart Jane. You don't understand!"
"No, you're right. I don't understand! But don't you dare come any where near Michael or ill rip you to pieces. Got it?" Jane now stood with her finger pointed at me with a red face, I just gulped and nodded, watching as Eddie scowled at me and trotted off after Jane. A single tear slipped down my cheek. He's not the only one heart broken. I was falling hard for him.
A few seconds later, Lucas and Lily walked around the corner with smiles on their faces.
"What you two smiling about?" I peered round the corner and as I did, I saw Mike getting beat up, once again by Dustin and Max. I rushed over to them at once, pulling both away from Mike who now had a bloody face. "Mike! Are you okay?" I tried to help him but he shoved me away and hobbled to the bathrooms. "What did you do that for?!" I yelled at Dustin and Max who both shrugged then eventually smirked, walking away giggling.
I was getting more down by the second, why can't I just kiss and cuddle with Mike, love him like he should be? Is that so hard to ask for?
Just then, Jonathan and Nancy appeared in front of me.
"You think it's funny to beat up my brother?" she lightly pushed me back, I just shook my head, tears threatening to spill. "Don't start crying Will! You know what you've done wrong and you need to fix it!" one last push and she stormed off, Jonathan stayed and stared at me.
"What's really happening Will?" he asked me with slight concern in his voice, we moved to a bench where I put my head down in dismay.

"I tried to help him Jonathan. I really did" I told him, looking at my hands while doing so.
"Tell me the whole story, I won't judge you. Promise"
"Promise?" he put his hand on my back, smiling at me.
"Promise." so I told him the whole story, from when I used to bully him until now. Jonathan was shocked of course but understood what happened, Jonathan was angry at lucas and the clan, his blood was boiling and everyone could see it. Jonathan suddenly got off the bench and stormed his way over to Lucas, people crowding in interest.

"So you think it's funny do you?" Jonathan asked the clan who gave a look of disgust. "Hmm. Got anything to say?" Lucas and Jonathan moved forward to face each other.
"Yeah, your brother is a gay boy and is dating frog face. Being gay is wrong, you should know that Byers."
"I'm not on about that. The fact that you would kill Mike if Will stays with him! What is wrong with you? What is wrong with you?! You lot are a bunch of psychos, disgusting and its  inhuman. How dare you!" Jonathan bellowed letting his anger out on the clan. Lucas gave an evil look before throwing the first punch at Jonathan, who thankfully grabbed it, twisting it around, hurting Lucas in the process.
"Hurt my brother or Mike again, and I'll make sure you never come out of the hospital, all of you." with one last rough push against lucas, Jonathan pulled me away from the scene and out of the school grounds.
