"I'm so sorry Katniss," my mother says, he head down.
"What happened?" I say, holding back tears.
"He had a heart defect, he wouldn't have survived much longer,"she says, pain written in her eyes.
I wake up Peeta, and tell him. He has always been more comfortable with emotions, and bursts into tears. I hug, and hold him. I would kiss him, but I'm afraid he would suffocate.
