Chapter 2
As I walked and walked the lonely alleyway, hoping it wasn’t a dead end, but unfortunately, sooner found out that it was nothing but a dead end. As I couldn’t go any further, I turned and head back out of the alleyway, but found that the zombies had blocked it off. I looked around, and saw a ladder, so I jumped onto the bin and climbed up the ladder. It still wasn’t over any yet. I ran over to the edge and jumped to the next building but as I did so, I hit my leg on the ledge.
Suddenly, a young girl approximately age of 15, long dark brown hair with dark brown and green eyes with glasses pulled me and picked me up and dragged me to somewhere safe.
“Are you ok?” she asked as she hugged me.
“I’m fine, but my leg hurts badly” I replied.
“Here…let me help you” she took her first-aid kit out and applied some disinfectant and some bandages on my leg.
“What are you doing here, out here all alone? Where’s your family? And friends?” I asked desperately, as I wanted to know.
“My friends and family are dead, I tried to warn them about the apocalypse, they didn’t listen, I got home from school, found them dead with blood flowing out, so I packed things that I need, and ran away…I regretted, I shouldn’t have left home, I should’ve stayed home” she explained and told me her story feeling dissapointed and sad, I saw tears in her eyes.
“Dont blame yourself for their death. It will be ok, all these will be over soon, I promise” I told her as I held her hand.
“I don’t need any promises, all we need is a little faith…” she replied, as she rejected my hand and she stood up. Then I stood back up.
“I’m Nathaniel Anderson or Nate for short, late grandson of Green Day rocker Billie-Joe Armstrong” I introduced myself, holding out my hand for a shake.
“Skylar, Skylar Adams, pleasure to have met you ” she shooked mine as she introduced herself.
“So what is this place?” I asked out of the blue, looking around.
“It use to be an old Business Trade Centre, was abandoned 16 years ago, don’t ask me why cause I wouldn’t know, I’m still learning about it” Skylar explained then gave out a laugh.
“Well you’ll be safe here for the time being, I’ll be off for the night, so goodnight Nate” she bid goodnight, and I just kept looking at her until she’s gone.
I turned and headed for the other end of the room, until I heard her voice calling out my name.
“Nate!! CATCH!!” she tossed me a shotgun.
“Thank you.” I thanked her.
“Be careful, stay safe, good night Nate” she bided, and went to bed, and I did the same.
