"Stupid alarm..." Skylar angrily pushed down on the off button.
It was Saturday morning and she had forgotten to turn off her alarm clock. Since she was fully awake Skylar decided to start the day. As the warm water hit her face in the shower, Skylar started to think about yesterday's events.
"Today is going to suck." She thought to herself, as she got out of the shower then got dressed.
The smell of pancakes hit her nostrils as she made her way down stairs.
"Good morning, Mom." Skylar said as she kissed her mother on the cheek.
"Good morning? Sweetheart it's 12:30."
"But it's weekend Mom." Skylar rolled her eyes.
"So how many pancakes do you want?" Mrs. Davis asked, from her position beside the pan.
"Three please." Skylar chirped, grabbing a plate.
"Wait, where is Nicole and Stacey?" Skylar wondered.
Usually on the weekends, Stacey would crash at their place and wouldn't wake up until 4:00 in the afternoon.
"Oh, Stacey was kind enough to take your little sister to the zoo today, I was going to wake you up but your aunt said that you might want some time to yourself."
"Oh..." Skylar said picking at her plate.
"Did something happen yesterday Sweetie?" Mrs. Davis asked, putting her and Skylar's plates in the dishwasher.
"Everything is fine Mom." Skylar lied.
Her mom had work and other things to worry about. Skylar didn't want to bother her with her own drama.
"Just know you can always come to me and I'll always be there for you." Her mother softly smiled.
"What are those for?" Skylar pointed as she noticed the container of cookies
"Oh! Those are for our new neighbors, I wanted to give them a house warming gift to welcome them to the neighborhood. Do you mind giving it to them since I am in a rush for work?" Mrs. Davis said as she was putting on her jacket.
"Sure, I met their daughter at school yesterday, so I won't be too awkward." Skylar said as she stood up.
"Good, say hello to them for me." Mrs. Davis said before giving her a good bye kiss on the cheek.
"Ok Mom, love you." Skylar said while her mom practically ran out of the door. Skylar sighed as she grabbed the container and headed across the street.
Min Jun's POV
Min Jun wiped the sweat off his forehead before he went up the stairs; he had just got back from his daily run. When he entered his home, he went straight to the fridge to get his water bottle. He took a sip, enjoying the feel of the cool liquid going down his throat.
This morning his father had taken them to the dealership to get separate cars before going to work, but the girls were still running errands, so he was home alone. Just as he had finished the last of his water bottle, the doorbell started to ring. When he opened the door, Min Jun was surprised to see who it was.
The girl from last night was standing right in front of him holding a container.
"Hi, I'm Skylar, I live across the street and came to give your family a house warming gift." Skylar said nervously.
Skylar stood there, feeling even more uncomfortable as Min Jun just stood there starring at her.
"Oh Sorry, I am Min Jun..., Min Jun Yang." He snapped out of his thoughts.
