Melanie was in shock. Did Abi even text her? Did she call her and Melanie had just forgotten? No. She couldn't of. The Cuban would've counted the hours until then. Maybe she wanted to surprise her. Or maybe She was dreaming. She had forgotten her daily dose of Cuban coffee that day...
"Mel!"
"Huh?" She snapped out of her thoughts.
The grey-eyed girl shook her head and realized that Abi's hands were still on her face. She felt her face get red and saw the other girl smile. "I asked you if you missed me."
"What? What the hell kind of question is that?" Melanie replied, removing Abi's hands from her face. Once seeing the slight hurt pass through the hazel eyes, she smirked. "Of course I missed you!"
Abi's face broke into one of relief and she hugged her best friend. They stayed hugging and squealing for a while. Actually, longer than a while. Almost five minutes. They had both thought that they'd cry once they got to see each other once again, but neither of them did.
After a long period of hugging, Abi separated herself and took a look at her friend. She noticed right away that she had a few tattoos, though she didn't really pay attention as to what they were or said. The Cuban face also had an eyebrow piercing, and Melanie's ears had three new piercings in each as well. She wasn't sure if her style had changed though since as of the moment the Cuban was just wearing a beige t-shirt and a brown apron with black pants and white Converse. But still, the Caucasian smiled, pleased with her friend's changes. The blonde tucked a strand of black hair behind the girl's pierced ear and smiled at her tenderly.
The grey-eyed girl flushed, and her heart fluttered. She was going to lean into a kiss but stopped herself, remembering what her first priority was and who was waiting for her at home...Though that didn't mean she couldn't check the girl out. Melanie saw that Abi as wearing a large red overcoat, grey leggings, and black heels (that made her taller than Mel, which was a weird sight since she had always been shorter by a few inches). Her golden blonde hair was up in a high ponytail and, as expected, there was no tattoos or piercings on that flawless skin and face. The Cuban figured it was because her model agency didn't allow for their models to have any marking on them.
"So, how's Boston? How's Ramon's? How's Zen?" Abi led them to a small table in the corner of the room, a giant smile on her face. "Tell. Me. Everything." She set her hands on top of the other girl's.
"Um...good. I mean, I obviously got this job after you left. Zen used to live with me, but he moved out a few months ago actually," the dark-haired girl sighed. "Oh, yeah I got-" She froze. She couldn't tell Abi that. Abi didn't need to know any of that.
"You got what?" The blonde questioned. Having a guess, she covered her mouth and gasped. "Did you...did you get an STD?"
Melanie widened her eyes. "God, no!"
"Thank God!" Abi said, relieved.
The two girls laughed. 'Why would she think that of all things I could've gotten?' Melanie thought. She figured it was better than the truth, though and moved on. "No, I uh...got a dog."
"You got a third dog?" Abi asked, wondering why Mel would get another living thing to take care of.
"Yeah, I did. He's a golden retriever." The grey-eyed girl smiled, thinking of the little puppy jumping around at home with Jasper and Salchicha. "His name is Buddy."
"Wow, cool." The blonde said. "Why don't you tell me more about what's been going on over dinner?" She tried. She really wanted to be with Melanie, and subtly wasn't part of her plan right now.
