Alexa's POV
I hopped into the driver seat of my black Jeep. Brady went around to the other side as he got into the passenger seat. He was acting weird, I felt like I kinda made him nervous. Which is a good thing, right? I mean he makes me very nervous. Ever since I met him, I swear my crush got 10 times bigger. This means my giddiness has also increased to the point where it's almost uncontrollable. But somehow, I'm able to not freak and fan girl over him. He's just a regular guy, and I'm just an almost regular girl.
I reached for my phone out of my pocket and was about to plug in my aux, but I quickly realized that all my playlist have at least one in real life song. Shit!
"Here," I handed him the aux. "I like to let passengers play their music. One, its less stressful when driving and two, I think it helps you get to know a person".
He smiled as he took the aux, "are you sure cause some of music is a little embarrassing, I'm not too confident with playing my music". He let out an awkward chuckle.
"Oh come on, it can't be that bad," I buckled up as I checked all my mirrors.
"You'd be surprise," he raised a brow.
"Oh come on, now I'm dying to know what you listen to," I began to pull the car out from the curb.
"Okay," he got onto Spotify and began scrolling through a million playlist.
As I pulled up at a stop sign, I realized how sunny it was. "Hey Brady can you grab my sunnies from the glove department?" I asked politely.
He stopped scrolling on his phone and smirked at me, "your what?" He let out a soft chuckle.
"My sunnies," I responded and he gave me the same confused smile. "Sunglasses," I smiled at how cute his grin was.
"Oh," he opened the glove department and grabbed the shades. But instead of handing them to me, he put them on. "Oh, I like these".
"Hey!" I giggled at him but tried to keep my eyes on the road. "Would you like me to crash cause I'm being blinded?"
He sighed as he took them off and handed them to me. "Only because I'd hate to ruin that pretty face of yours". I immediately felt the heat rushing to my cheeks as they were getting red. I quickly put on my sunnies to hide my acknowledgment of blushing.
"So have you found a playlist yet?" I giggled as he was still looking at me.
"Oh right," he went back to his phone and hit shuffle on a playlist and just let it go off. Sky Walker by Miguel came on, not a bad choice.
The intro went off and I knew almost all the lyrics to the song. I wanted to show off that we like the same music.
"Cap and a stem, catch a wave on us," I sang softly with the music. "Splish," I sang weirdly as I moved my shoulders to the music.
Brady laughed at the splish and joined in on the song, "take a shot, make a friend, just enjoy the moment". He sang effortlessly, but it still sounded amazing.
"I'm Luke Skywalkin' on these haters," I smirked as I sang then looked to Brady. "Splish," we both sang weirdly making both of us chuckle.
"Celebrate every day like a birthday," Brady sang as he moved his arms to the music making me laugh.
"Good things come to those that wait up," I sang and then turned to Brady again. "Splish!" We sang louder.
"But don't wait to jump in too long," Brady sang making it really high at some parts as Miguel does.
"Don't sleep, you gotta stay up," I laughed as I sang my line cause of Brady's voice. "Splish!" We both barely got through without laughing at each other.
"Don't, don't sleep, you gotta stay up," Brady sang dancing awkwardly. "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" He hit the folks on the last yeah making me laugh my ass off.
"Oh god," I chuckled moving my eyes back to the road. "So where did you move from?" I asked as I felt way more comfortable with him now that we sang together.
"Wisconsin," he nodded his head to the music.
"Wisconsin boy," I smiled as I tried to act like everything was new information. "Why did you guys move?" I asked genuinely curious.
"Uhhh..." either Brady didn't want to tell me or he has a really bad memory. "Business," he answered casually. "Plus I'm not complaining about the weather," he rested an arm out the window. "Have you lived here all your life?"
"Kinda," I answered shrugging. "I use to live in the city, but once my parents go divorced, my dad moved outside the city and my mom went to LA". I didn't mean to make it gloomy, but it always made me a little upset.
"Sorry about that," Brady also seemed gloomy from it.
"Eh," I sighed. "Things happen, Lisa married my dad and treated me like her own and I visit my mom a lot in LA". I looked over to Brady to see him give me a kinda half smile. "You hungry? This place has the best waffles!" I said excited.
"I thought were going out for lunch?" Brady asked checking his watch.
"Oh we are, but this is a brunch place," Brady gave me a confused look. "They serve breakfast and lunch, have you never heard of brunch?" He shook his head causing me to laugh. "Maybe it's a really girly thing, but brunch is one of my favorite things. If I could eat breakfast foods every meal, I would!"
"Never really liked breakfast foods," he stated.
"You're kidding?" He shook his head, "what?! How do you-what?" I could barely comprehend.
"It's not horrible, but I would always prefer a nice pizza in the morning," Brady laughed a little.
"You're an interesting one, Tutton" I shook my head in disbelief.
"Tutton? We're on a last name basis now?" He narrowed his eyebrows.
"I like tutton," I giggled. More in particularly, I like you. Didn't say that aloud, right?
