Ok, so training went unsurprisingly terrible.
"How am I supposed to "let the energy flow" when the energy won't flow?" Starr asked in frustration. Wren knew that too let it out you have to want it out. "You don't want to, that's why. For it to flow, for it to do anything, you have to want it to. Watch," Wren said and demonstrated the simple task of opening the door from 20 ft away. He pushed out his hand and flexed his fingers. Within seconds the door swung open while Starr stood there feeling hopeless. "How do you know I don't want it to?" She asked. He looked at her. "Because if you wanted to, you would have opened that door hours ago," he said. Starr looked at the door then back at Wren."Come on, Starr. You have to want it," she whispered to herself. Wren rolled his eyes. "Talking to yourself won't help."
Starr ignored him and remembered the way he so easily opened the door. He wasn't tense, or afraid. He seemed happy doing this. She stretched out her arm and, like Wren, flexed her fingers. Not slowly but as fast as lightning strikes, the door swung open and hit the wall behind it so hard, the wood broke into pieces. Starr's breaths quickened and she turned her hand around and looked at it. She then realized the extent of her power and decided not to ever hold it back. She stretched her hand out, confidently, and the windows shattered one by one. She could hear all the microscopic shards of glass breaking apart. She then put her hand back down to her side and looked at Wren. "Wow. That's amazing, you're amazing. Never has anyone done something like that on the first day of training. I can't wait for tomorrow."Starr's phone buzzed in her pocket as she sat down on her bed. She picked it up and turned it over. "Hello?" Starr said.
"Starr. Are you okay? I haven't talked to you since the other day and I don't really even remember what happened and-" Starr stopped him.
"I'm fine. As good as ever. How's everything going with you?" She asked and looked up at the stars painted on her ceiling. She always thought they meant something more than what she saw.
"I'm grand. About to head over to Josh's house. Gabe, Martha, and Lillian are over there. They told me to tell you that they would love if you could come."
Starr thought about it. It would be nice to clear her head for a little while. Be around normal people for a change, plus she hadn't seen them in a while.
"I'd love to come. Pick me up?" Starr asked.
"Be ready in 15 minutes, love!" Sean faked a British accent, causing Starr to remember Wren. How she shattered the windows. The rush of power to felt inside her, finally escaping. She remembered the hot adrenaline pumping through her veins, and the control she felt. It had felt like she owned the world.AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry for this chapter being shorter!
