Chapter Four: Friends with Benefits

Jaelyn was alone with her thoughts, scroller and wine. FrienIt was her turn to decide who she wanted to pay some mind too and she was ready to be picky. But, first a simple acknowledgement of her presence to Mr. Derrick was needed. A quick click of the mouse and a full profile was available for her to admire. Simple and easy. Maybe the dating world wouldn't be so bad.

Derrick Hendricks did well for himself. A penthouse style setting was background to many photos of him in designer suites. An educated, wealthy, narcissistic bachelor. Jae knew the type all too well, but this time it would be fun to have a little play with it instead of serious dating, which is why she usually got screwed, and not in the fun enjoyable way.

She chugged her wine as her eyes started to scroll over the hobbies, likes and dislikes of the man before her. Normally, a boring, or over the top, depending on the guy, type conversation would have to occur in an awkward dinner-like setting for her to gain such information. This was much more likable, with less food-chewing, open mouthed conversations to have to disgust her during dinner talk.

Hobbies

-Being domineering with a woman

-Eating at the most elite of restaurants available

-Spending my money on expensive things because I can

-Riding in my new Maserati with the wind in my face & a beautiful woman on my side

-Nascar....driving a car fast...the rush of it and getting paid to do it....dream job

-Basketball games, especially the LA Lakers

-Spontaneous trips to Vegas & Cancun (money & hot woman...perfect combo)

-A woman who wants a man who has it all

-Counting my money naked

-Arrogant woman

-Illiterate people...get on my level

-Those seeking pity..suck it up & work your ass off

-Paying bills

-Cooking for myself

-Cleaning on any level...I have people to pay to do such things

A winky face accompanied his witty and egotistical remark. Cocky, narcissistic, hot and wealthy. What the hell. He was worth a shot in Jaelyn's books. Even if the message was unanswered the temptation was worth the attempt, plus she was a little drunk.

He was out of her league and she knew it, but why not push the limits. What's the worst that could happen - he didn't respond. The risk was worth the outcome - no matter which way it went.

A quirky message was all that was needed to get his attention and put her at the top of his potential radar, at least she hoped.

Jaelyn Montgomery : So, I thoroughly enjoyed your attempt to sound cocky. The question is whether you match up to the profile you put out. Dare to prove it....

Maybe it was the wine maybe the boredom of now being alone, whatever it was, something gave her the juice she needed to be just as cocky as Mr. Derrick portrayed.

An hour later, she was buzzed - borderline intoxicated - and viewed over thirty profiles and messaged a number of men. She was confident and horny, the perfect scenario for a text to Colin.

Jaelyn: Hey what are ya doing? I didn't know if you were free for a bit...wanna come bye? ;) i could use some colin time..just saying.

Colin was, well, a "friends with benefits" kind of guy. A simple booty call. He was good for it whenever relief was needed and nothing more ever came of it. It was the perfect relationship for Jae; sex with no connection, no stress, no drama, no commitment. She could be like George Clooney if she wanted too. Sometimes that's all she wanted and could handle.

Colin: Hey babe. I'm up the street at the bar. You have good radar. ;) But, yeah, I could use some time with you. Feels like it's been a while. See you in about fifteen.

From time to time, she questioned why she didn't think of anything more of Colin. He was the only man that ever delivered what he promised and was tentative to timing. All thoughts always led back to the same answer; if it's not broken, don't fix it. Somethings you just don't mess with.
