Carmen POV

"Are you feeling better"? my mom asked.  "Yes", I replied.  "We were worried about you", she says next. "Well get some more rest", my mom said.

A few hours past, and I decide to go downstairs to find something to eat. "I think we should tell her Nancy". " I'm  not ready yet", my mom said. "We have to tell her that she is adopted at some point", my dad says.  "But what if she sees us differently", my mom cries.
I come into the light.  "What"! " I'm  adopted", I cry.  Many emotions come rushing in at once. I feel sadness and anger. I don't want it to be true.

                  30 minutes  later..............
'Ring','Ring'. ''What do you want?", I ask weakly. "Have you been crying?",Drew asks."Yes", I reply. "Why is that"? he asks. "I don't want to talk about it"?, I reply. "Come meet me at my penthouse so we can talk", he says gently. "I'll text you the address", he says lastly.
Wow! His penthouse is so high tech.  Drew Gave a house tour as soon as I arrived. After that, we went to sit on his couch in the living room. "Your penthouse is pretty impressive", I say. "Just like you",he replies.
"I'm not going to let you off that easy, Drew teases.  "Tell me why you were crying".  I hesitate at first. "Well, I found out I was adopted", I say timidly.  "They might not be your birth parents, but they are the ones who raised you", Drew says.  "I know, but it is pretty disappointing.  I've only ever known them as my parents, and it's very saddening to learn that they aren't my parents", I began to cry.
"Things will get better with time". "Lets talk some more over dinner", he says.

                         ......................

"Ha, ha". "I was like ten when that happened, Drew says. "My birthday is September 4", I say. "My birthday is October 31" , he says. " My worst fear is losing control, he says next.  " I've never really thought about it",  I say.
We continue to asks questions, and more personal than others.  I learned that he hates house cats, yet loves to keep exotic animals. All in All our conversation went well. And I didn't think he could cook, but boy was I wrong.  He says he learned from his nanny.
I look down at my phone to missed calls and texts from my parents, but I just ignore them.  I lean over to kiss Drew. "You ready to go to sleep", he asks. "Yes".
