Despite sleeping on the streets and scavenging for food, I was grateful for what I had. As usual a pool of cold water had woken me up followed by a scolding woman. I stood from the alley behind the bakery and made my way to the opening of the streets. Ignoring the casual glares and looks of disgust I walked towards the forest behind the local park. Intertwined with the beauty of nature I decided to sit about fifteen miles into the forest. After I started acknowledging the peace I was met with a painful migraine. Then came a sore pain in my chest which travelled to my stomach, after was a painful shock throughout my whole body, I passed out shortly after. All I could see was black, I tried opening my eyes since I believed they were closed but it was no use. Finally, a white figure was shown in the darkness, it slowly approached me and once it had touched my head, everything that was once black had suddenly became white. The figure disappeared, shattering to form a back garden somewhat the sort that you would find in a residential house. I felt my body moving but I was unable to control it, I looked ahead of me and there stood a little boy covering his face so no one could see the streams of tears. A grown man appeared and though his face was blurred I felt as if I recognized him, he lifted his hand but before anything could happen a woman ran towards them screaming. Everything froze and I was brought out of the 'movie' by the same white figure. When I had opened my eyes, I wasn't expecting someone to be there, taken back by what I had seen and the surprise of someone being in front of me, I bumped myself into a tree causing leaves to fall over my head.
"Hey kiddo, you alright? You've seemed to pass out"
I forgot about the guy for a second since I was day dreaming about the 'vision' I saw. I looked up at him to see more of his features; he had shaggy brown hair that curved around his ears, his tanned skin brought out his minty green eyes. He examined me closer with a concerned look.
"Let's take you to the hospital for a check-up, I'm a doctor so I'll be able to run some tests, you're looking a little pale"
I stood up shaking my head and continued walking. Hearing the doctor's footsteps behind me I turned my head over my shoulder before making a run for it. Swiftly dodging trees and branches in my way, it wasn't hard to pick up speed. The faster I ran the fainter I heard the footsteps, once I couldn't hear them I stopped to catch my breath. Cautiously looking around I wondered why my vision was blurry, it suddenly became extremely hot and I started sweating. I was somewhat in the middle of the forest with an excruciating thirst, I tried making my way towards a tree to the side of me so I could rest but every time I took a step I stumbled all over the place. I finally made it to the tree only to yet again faint, before hearing the doctor's footsteps, everything turned black.
I woke up to bright lights, lying on a bed though I didn't understand exactly where I was. I lifted my head to a smiling shaggy haired doctor.
"Hello kiddo, I'm doctor Plentin, or you could just call me Diego"
He reached his hand out for me to shake, denying the handshake I slumped my head back onto the pillow now remembering who he was.
"Ok then how about we start off with your name"
I answered with a huff.
"Nathan Sorou"
"Like S-o-r-o-u, the same as Samuel Sorou?"
"yeah the owner of D.N.A Sintra"
I answered with an eyeroll and answered his question; it was a habit to roll my eyes every time people associated me with my dad.
He nodded his head and scribbled down some notes, he continued asking me questions about what happened in the forest and I told him the truth, that I didn't know. I was listening to the ticking of the clock until I realised something bizarre.
"I'm sorry about all these questions its somewhat protocol. Ok since you don't know I'm going to have to run some tests on y- wait how did I end up here?"
I interrupted his sentence making him stutter, trying to find an answer to my question.
"I called an ambulance from the forest, but I carried you outside of the forest until they could take you off my hands"
He seemed confident but it wasn't making sense, I sat up and questioned him some more.
"It was day when I walked into the forest and only an hour passed when you came to me, so either I was out for hours or I'm in another one of those dream movie things"
He looked at me trying to seem confused but he's eyes were intrigued in my words. That was my reason to run, I took off so fast he couldn't have stopped me even if he had tried. He called after me yelling to not walk out of the hospital door, something about it being a mistake and he was right. Before I barged through the double doors I felt sick and when I entered what I assumed was the outside, everything was once again as black as the night. I closed my eyes and opened them multiple times until my vision slowly came clearer. Through my eyes, I realised I was sitting on a dull looking but very comfortable couch. Everything looked rusted and old but still managed to look welcoming, I sat up taking in my surroundings, noticing I was in a living room then the man standing beside the doorway.
