Ambrosia POV

Hi there. My name is Ambrosia McKaylia. I am twenty-two years old. I come from a long line of Slytherins in a very well off family. We are not all purebloods or purists. My mother is a muggle and my father was a wizard. They were in love and she knew everything about what he was. There are a few people in my family that wholeheartedly disagree with the ideal of a muggle and wizard marrying let alone having children. I guess you could say I was a bit of a taboo baby. Especially after being sorted into Gryffindor. My entire family was prepared for me to be a Slytherin and I got placed in bloody Gryffindor, well more or less I chose it. My parents didn't much mind but my grandparents on my father's side weren't the least bit happy or amused. However, I worked hard through the years and graduated Hogwarts in the top of my class and scoring the highest on my exams amongst my fellow Gryffindors. The only one that was ever neck and neck with me at anything was Severus Snape whom happened to be two years ahead of me at Hogwarts and a Slytherin. At that point I do remember my grandparents being proud of me. However, this story isn't about them. No, this story is about the love of my life, Severus Snape.

I walked the stone pathway in Hogsmeade kicking loose stones in my path. It was quite a desolate place after dark but you could hear people in the pub having a wonderful time. I decided to take a quick detour to the Shrieking Shack. I hadn't been out there since I was in school. It was quite a sad looking building but it never appeared like it was falling apart. Although it was rather crooked and swaying with the wind it remained intact. I sat down on a stump just staring at the remarkable structure for what seemed like forever before someone came through the trees. I drew my wand quickly and quietly aiming it. However, I was not prepared to trip over my own two feet while moving backwards. I fell with a loud thump.

"Ow. Darn it, stupid rock," I mumbled in frustration. I looked up to see a young man staring down at me with curiosity and a slight scowl that I immediately recognized. Severus Snape hadn't changed at all since school save for getting taller. I got up brushing the dirt from my robes.

"Don't I know you?" Severus spoke in his familiar sultry voice. I froze for half a second. We had a few classes together but after what happened with Potter and his friends I didn't think he would want to ever befriend another Gryffindor again let alone that he would ever remember me.

"Sorry but we never officially met. My name is Ambrosia McKaylia. I was a Gryffindor...the sorting hat should have never put me there." I replied to him mumbling at the end. I looked the other direction in embarrassment and started to walk away as Snape grabbed my wrist. I gasped slightly as he peered into my eyes. Before I knew what was happening I saw a couple of my memories. Very personal ones of me crying because of James Potter and his friends bullying me but also because they bullied Severus. I was able to block him from my mind shoving him away. I slapped him across the face. It was just sort of an automatic reaction.

"Don't. Ever. Do. That. To. Me." I seethed at him putting as much venom into my words as possible. My face softened a bit after I noticed the side of his face was red. I guess I smacked him pretty hard but it was definitely justified.

"You can use Occlumency?" He asked in a surprised voice with an eyebrow raised. I was slightly amused that he was more interested by that than the fact I had just slapped him.

"Yes, and I can use Legilimency rather well too but that isn't exactly your business now is it?" I was still slightly angry that he had done that to me. Normally I was able to block someone immediately but he was a very strong Legilimens.
