"Aish.. When will they come back?!?"
BTS was currently on tour with the last place being in New York. We were working on a partnership with several companies here, that was why we're staying in America for 5 months.
"Maybe I should text them that I walked out.. It should be fine; I'll get back in like an hour."
I walk down a dimly lit street, watching the lamp posts flicker as the water drip down the buildings from the afternoon drizzle.
...piano 어릴 적 집 ...
Hm?
...자리잡은 갈색 piano 그때 기억해...
Isn't that my song?
As I walk down the quiet street, coming closer to the music, I see a boy crouching on the bench.
"Nope, not today."
I wanted to have a nice walk alone. I am fine with fans. I do enjoy meeting them but I just don't feel like hearing some fanboy screaming in my ear.
Walking back the way I came, I heard soft sniffles coming from the lump of a human with the headphones.
"I'll just say Hi and then make an excuse to leave. I can't just leave someone like that, especially an ARMY."
I walked closer to the boy. He smells nice.
I sit next to him and whisper along with the song
" 그게 날 이끌 때, 널 우러러보며"
"An idol shouldn't be walking around in the middle of the night alone and especially sit down with a stranger."
He's a she. As she spoke, she took off her hood and looked at me.
Hair's wavy touching her lower shoulder, her eyes were red from crying this whole time. She had a small mole on the top of her lip that were stained in a deep red and wet rosy cheeks.
She attempted a smile, looking up to me.
"Hey? Yoonki?"
Taken aback, I spoke slowly even though nowadays I speak as fluently as Namjoon.
"A young girl .. should not be sitting alone ..in the night. Talking to people they never met."
"Pretty good english."
She sat up from her previous position of her head laying in her palms, to laying her head back towards the wall as the strands of her hair fell back behind her.
"Ah. It feels nice here isn't it. Not New York but here. The people around here are usually the older generation, they aren't loud or dangerous. It's really quiet during the nights, plus the ocean is close you you always hear..."
She wasn't the prettiest girl I've ever seen or the most fit but I somehow felt entranced. It was as if all the love songs I have written over the years were made for this moment, looking at her calmed me more that listening to music or falling asleep.
"Yoongi-ah, are you listening?"
"ah-Ah yeah. Sorry, I am just a little tired." Technically that wasn't a lie. I was working on something in the hotel all day, partly why I was taking a walk.
"No worries kiddo."
"Aren't you too young to be calling me kiddo?"
She lifted her head from the wall and looked straight at me.
"You shouldn't be so disrespectful to your elders"
She is definitely not older than me. WIth her youthful eyes and ruby lips paired with black ripped jeans, black platform shoes, a white t-shirt and an oversized grey sweater she is definitely younger than me.
"You should be calling me oppa and not kiddo. Pretty girls like you should be respectful."
I added the last part for shits and giggles but also to see her reaction.
She immediately blushed and looked away towards the sea.
"Ah, cute"
"Anyways what is an idol like you doing here?"
I forgot at the moment what I was actually doing here so I made up a white lie.
"Ah-I was going to a cafe near here that makes really good coffee."
She looked at my face with a scrunched face and an eyebrow raised. She hugged her legs, her whole body facing me.
"It's 12 am you know"
Shit. I should make up better lies next time.
"It's fine. I guess I should be heading home."
She was setting her feet down to the ground and reaching for her bag under the bench.
It was late and I didn't trust her to go home safely. It wasn't a bad neighborhood but it didn't feel right to let her leave.
"N-no! A-not no but ah."
"Would you like to have some coffee at my home? I don't mean in like anything-ah-ah. I-uh I don't know how to make coffee as good as the imaginary cafe you were talking about but I actually just got a new manual machine that supposedly makes really good coffee."
She spoke so fast that I almost didn't know what she was saying. It should be fine, I can walk to her house and have a cup and then leave.
"Sure"
--- I am thinking about including Hangul in the dialogue to maybe make the scenes more realistic, should I? ---
