Ch.23

~2 day's later~

Lopez's POV:

"How are you holding up?" I ask Cat as I hand her a cup of coffee. She shrugs in response "It still hurts," she whispers out "Like someone is just stabbing my heart repeatedly and no matter what I do I go back to the maybe's and what ifs and it makes me feel like I'm drowning and I don't know what to do anymore." She cries setting her coffee down and wipes the tears off her face. "Look Cat I am not going to tell you that your okay and everything is fine that would be stupid of me," I say grabbing her hands "but you have to keep going and you have to keep living and I get it life sucks I know," I continue "just remember that everything always happens for a reason the hardest part is just waiting for the reason," I say kissing her forehead. "I'm going to go get snacks so we can have a movie day how about that?" I ask and she smiles through her tears.

I get up and walk out the room towards the kitchen. "Why are you still here Carter?" I overhear Shawn say before I walk into the kitchen. "Why are you still here Shawn?" Carter asks back. "Answer the damn question, Carter." Shawn states angerly. "Well, I'm here because Felix said I could stay as long as I liked," Carter says and you can literally hear him smirking. "I saved Catalina just in case you forgot I also took a bullet for her," He states "So Shawn why are you here? I mean all of this was your fault." He says.

"What do you mean that all of this was Shawns fault?" I ask swing the door open. They both look at each other "Fucking answer me!" I shout. "Well, I think I'll leave you two lovebirds to talk." Carter says taking his drink with him. I look over at Shawn "Well are you going to tell me why the hell he's blaming you?" I ask him crossing my arms. "Lopez I," He takes a breath and looks down at his feet "I was the one who convinced Felix's dad to try and force him into marrying Ava." He says, and a tear rolls down my cheek "You let everyone here suffer because of your pettiness," I say "You let Joele almost kill Catalina because you were so desperate to let their gang be at the top." I say as tears stream down my face. "You would have been right there with me Lopez I was doing it for us." He says walking closer to me. "What us Shawn? There was never an us, to begin with, and you know it." I say pushing him away. " Please, please don't do this," He pleads "I love you, Lopez." He cries "You should have thought about that before betraying this family." I state and walk out.

"Cat are you still in here?" I ask walking back into her and Felix's room. I hear the bathroom door open "I'm right here," she says walking out "are we still going to watch movies?" she ask. "Yeah, but do you want to go to the store with me and get some snacks we ran out of french fries." I say with a chuckle. She gives me a weird look and pats the bed next to her. I take a seat next to her and she pulls me into a hug. "Why are you crying?" She asks with a soft voice. "I can't tell you but I promise once I let Felix know about it I'll tell you." I say hugging her back "Tell Felix what?" Felix asks walking into the room. Cat gets up to give him a kiss "Hey princess how are you feeling today?" He asks pulling her into a hug. "A little better but these bruises are killing me." She answers. "I'll get you some pain medicine from Mike later." He says planting a kiss on her forehead and she smiles.

"So, Lopez what is it you wanted to tell me?" He asks. "Can we talk in private?" I aks him getting up off the bed. He nods and whispers something to Cat and she nods walking out of the room. " So what is it?" He asks sitting on the couch in his room. "I overheard Shawn and Carter talking in the kitchen a little bit ago," I say sitting back down on the bed "Carter was blaming what happened to Cat on Shawn and that's when I went in," I say as the tears start to blur my vision "Felix, Shawn was the one who told your dad to force you to marry Ava." I say covering my face with my hands. "I'm going to fucking murder him." He says harshly and storms out the room. Tears start to pour out of my eyes like never before. "Why did this have to happen to me?" I ask aloud. "Lopez," I hear Cat's soft voice I look up to see her standing in front of me "everything always happens for a reason the hardest part is waiting for the reason." She says quoting me. She pulls me into a hug and we stayed like that for a few minutes as I tried to calm my self down.
