Summer slipped its way into the small town where they lived. It's been a while since Jay and Cassy became friends. In the presence of each other, both of them changed - in a good way. Jay learned to be more thoughtful and considerate of others while Cassy learned how to smile more joyfully.
Today, Jay was again seen in Coffee Shop, wearing his black and white uniform. He carefully designed an astonishing work of art using chocolate syrup, not forgetting to add a smiling tiger in the corner, indicating it was his creation.
The bell rang, causing Jay to shift his gaze towards the door. Just as he expected, Cassy entered, wearing a lavender sundress. Even before she could notice the gradual change of her wardrobe, all her dark clothes were replaced by bright colors. Maybe it's because she finally found the liberty from her thoughts that once controlled her?
As she advanced, the hem of her skirt painted invisible paths in the air.
Jay's eyes sparkled at the sight of her sitting in her usual seat. He picked up the cup of mocha latte and placed it in front of her. Cassy's lips curled up as he flashed his signature boxy smile at her.
"I'll be back in a while," he uttered with his eyes locked on her.
"I will be waiting," she responded. Her eyes curved into crescents.
Cassy took out her graphics tablet while waiting for him. She held the stylus and illustrated a universe filled with pastels.
When Jay came out after changing into his casual wear, he saw Cassy dwelling in her own world, just the way she was when he first saw her. Yet, something was different. It took him a while to notice that it was indeed her eyes. Those eyes that used to be like winter snow, without any warmth, were now sparkling like summer rain, passionate yet refreshing.
Jay's hand reached for the camera in his backpack. He needed to capture this scene and store it for a long long time. He needed to remind himself of this moment even when his memories would start fading.
Cassy was distracted by the sound of camera clicking. She searched for the source as their eyes met, causing her features to soften.
He put the camera down, extending his hand, waiting for her to hold it. It didn't cost much of his patience as she was rather quick to grab his hand. When she finally stood up, he placed his hand on her shoulder, pacing slowly towards the door.
The jingle bell lets out its melody as they exited Coffee Shop - a place filled with stories of people who decided to pay it a visit, a place filled with laughter, tears, anger and all other fundamental emotions, and, most importantly, a place where they found their euphoria.
You are the cause of my euphoria.

Are they a couple, you ask? Well, they could be anything. They could be lovers who shared the most platonic bonding. They could be best friends who would always be there when the other is in need. They could be soulmates who searched for each other in this vast universe.
