From Book 1 & 2, there were flashes of the people from Sam's visions about to die.
Sam: (voice over from 2.01 - In My Time of Dying) "The Demon said he had plans for me."
From 2.05 - Simon Said: In the street, Catty looked at Scarlett. "The Demon had to have brought you back to life for a reason, had to make sure you were born for a reason. Maybe this is that reason."
From 2.02 & 2.03, there were flashes of Scarlett being able to control the Rakshasha and Vampires more than once for each chapter, though she and her siblings hadn't known that she had been controlling them until later.
Weber: (voice over from 2.05 - Simon Said) "Have you been able to stop any monsters with a command of your voice lately?"
From 2.08 - Crossroad Blues: At the crossroads, Scarlett commanded the Crossroads Demon to stop. Scarlett held up a hand, focusing very hard to use her power. The Crossroads Demon stopped as if she couldn't take another step toward Scarlett, trying to move, but she couldn't.
Scarlett: (voice over from 2.08 - Crossroad Blues) "My power doesn't only work on monsters, does it? Can my power control Demons, too?"
Scarlett had the Crossroads Demon paralyzed with her power, circling around her, using more concentration on her so she could use her power to make her give in. The Crossroads Demon was shaking from the effort it took to fight Scarlett's power, shaking her head, starting to flinch and shudder in pain.
