He pulled me towards the house, holding me so that I couldn’t move.
“Let me go, you bastard!” I screamed out as loud as I could. I looked up and saw a scowl on his face. Ha! I thought. I continued struggling and kicking him, but it was like he was a piece of metal. He just wouldn’t move.
“Would you stop moving? It’s getting really annoying.” He groaned.
“ I’ll stop when you stop manhandling me you dick,” I was getting very angry at him. He stopped in his tracks and looked down at me with a stare that could make the sun cold.
“You will not talk to me that way. I am a Worthington, and all you are is a toy, a useless object looked down upon. Do you know how little power you have, yet you dare to talk to me like that.”
“I can talk to you however I want. I talk to people the way they deserve, and since you are an arrogant and narcissistic jerk, I can treat you like the dirt beneath my feet,” I had no idea where that came from, but at that moment, it felt really good. Especially when I saw the shocked and angry expression on his face.
I smiled smugly to myself, and I almost forgot that I was in this…situation. But it all hit me as soon as I saw the mansion. I once again started struggling trying to run away, and once again it was useless.
When we got into the house, Xavier pulled me into a room. Oh ya, did I mention that the he tied me to a chair? Well he did, around my wrists, ankles and waist. I was immobile.
“Let’s get straight to it. Who sent you?” Xavier questioned, putting his hands on the arms of the chair so our faces were right in front of each other’s.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” I squirmed under his gaze.
“Wow, they did a really bad job picking you as the person to try and kill me. I mean, they usually get confident and beautiful women to come…but look at you,” He looked me up and down with a disapproving nod. His judgment shouldn’t have mattered, but I felt my face burning up.
I saw something moving, so I looked down. It was Xavier’s hand. He twisted the gold knob arm of the chair. I looked up at him. His face was ruthless and hard. It was like he was giving me a moment to prepare myself for something bad. I knew that something would happen, and I was terrified. I could feel the fear flowing into my eyes, and Xavier must have seen it because he smiled to himself.
“You have ten seconds before you will be injected with a fluid that will attack your nerve system. It will manipulate it to make you feel unimaginable pain. I will keep injecting it to you until you tell me who sent you. If you don’t tell me, I will keep the injecting you until all your nerves are damaged, until you will go crazy.”
This got my attention, “Please, I really don’t know. No one sent me. Please, don’t do this,” I was begging at this point, and it was obvious that Xavier didn’t believe me. I had no doubt that he would lie about this and the strength of the serum. “I really don’t know,” I said weakly, trying one more time to get his to stop. I couldn’t tell him the truth; he would torture me in worse ways than this.
Suddenly, I felt the needle. It was poking my back; it seems to be some part of the chair. But all that doesn’t matter, because as soon as I felt the needle pierce my skin, my brain went blank. All it could focus on was the pain. It was more that anything I had ever felt. It was sharp, and consistent. I felt my mouth open, trying to let out a scream, but it felt like the throat had been slit in half. My eyes were wide and tear filled. My back was arched, trying to get away from the source of my pain, but it wasn’t working.
I could feel the pain increasing and I almost wished I were dead. I could feel my life slowly drifting away. I had no doubt that Xavier was the one that was controlling the fluid, and he was not shy about giving me as much as possible. My brain was going into overload. All I was trying to do now was to stay alive, but I knew I wasn’t going to. I could feel darkness drifting in at the edge of my vision.
I was going to give in until the pain stopped. Well, it didn’t actually stop. It left behind a dull and aching kind of pain. It also took away all my energy.
I sagged down on chair, not being able to support myself.
“I’m giving you one last chance. If you give me an answer, I’ll let you go. If you don’t, I will turn this thing to the max. What you just felt was not even half of what the serum is capable of,” He said.
I’m going to die. At age sixteen, I’m going to die at the hands of a Worthington.
Have you ever heard someone say I felt my life flash before my eyes and you have no idea what it feels like? Well, I never knew of the feeling either, that is, until now.
Memories and images flowed through my head. I smiled to myself. Although my life would be short, it was not as bad as others. At least I knew that I would die untouched.
The pain was back again. A thousand times worse. I was sure that there wouldn’t be anything worse than this.
But as fast as it had begun, the pain was gone. I looked up at Xavier, confused as to why the pain was gone. He looked back at me with the same amount of confusion.
“You really don’t know anything do you?” Xavier stated more than questioned.
“No, of course I know. That’s why I’m still sitting here, enduring your presence,” I croaked out barely being able to life my head to look at him.
He glared at me and untied me. He lifted me into his arms, I wanted to struggle but I was drained of any energy I had left. He lifted me onto a bed, now that I think of it, this is probably a guest room.
He pulled up a chair and sat down, resting his chin in his palm. “so, what’s your story,” He questioned.
“Excuse me?”
“How did you end up here?”
“Um, I’m here because you hired me?” I said raising an eyebrow.
“I don’t like stupid girls, now tell me why are you really here.”
That got me mad. “Who are you to say I’m stupid, and I really don’t care whether you like me or not.” I lifted the covers off of me and got of the bed. “You know what, I don’t have to be in here.” I stormed out of the room with him following me.
“And where might you be going.” He snarled.
“Anywhere but near you. You… you bastard.”
“Who the hell do you think you are? “ He caught up to me and pulled me into his chest by my wrists. I was now pressed onto him, and I was not happy.
“Let go of me. My hands may be stuck, but I still have legs that can cause a lot of pain,” I lowered my eyes, “down there.” I looked back up at a smiling Xavier. Oh no. I thought
Before I knew what was happening, he swung me over his shoulder. I screamed for him to let me down and pounded on his back. He walked us back into the room and locked the door. He dropped me onto the bed with a grunt.
He opened the door and left. I got off the bed and walked towards the door hoping that it was open. I pressed down on the handle, and to my surprise, it moved.
I could see the door moving towards my face, and before I knew it, it slammed into my forehead and I was sprawled on the floor.
“Oh my, I’m so sorry miss” said a female voice.
Wait, what. Female? I looked up and saw a beautiful girl. I jaw dropped. Why is there a girl here?
Sorry for the late update.
