"i was in the studio today. i couldn't stop thinking of you, laying here, surrounded by all of these tubes and wires. it's funny to think that these pieces of plastic help you hold on for a little longer, isn't it? they're the only thing that's giving me a small glimpse of hope. hope that you'll pull through. hope that you'll be you again."

the tears ran down his face for what seemed to be the millionth time. he dragged his palms down his face, wiping away the salty water in the process. he exhaled, focusing back on phoebe, his beautiful girlfriend that was laid in the hospital bed, holding onto her life.

"i was thinking about how we first met when we were writing at the studio. when i spilt coffee in your lap and stood on your toe whilst luke stood at the back, laughing his head off. after all of that, you still came over to me and gave me your number, smiling. you have a beautiful smile phoebe, it's a shame i can't see it," he whispered, a small smile forming on his lips and he stroked her cheek with the back of his hand, "hazel, your nurse, said it'll be a while until you wake up, but i know you can do it phoebe. you're a fighter so just hold on. hold on for dear life."
