My school was very nice, but it was old. It was built ages ago and needed a bit of a revamp, but I liked it. I walked over to my locker and grabbed my books out, I looked behind me and I could see through my peripheral vision someone was staring at me. I shut my locker and turned around. It was Veronica
"Hey Betty" she said
"Hi Veronica"
"What you up to?" She said to me, why was she so interested in my life? Ugh she always does this, it's like she wants to be friends or something
"I'm going to the blue and gold, uhh look at the time, I better be off" I said as I started to walk away.

I walked into the blue and gold and immediately started coughing, this place always gathers dust over the weekend. I pulled all the blankets off the cheap equipment as I covered my nose to block the dust. The dust settled down and I opened the window even though it was cold. I pulled my special blue and gold journal out of my bag, I used it only for articles and looked at it, I started writing an article about the Southside. I was told the Southside has gangs and drugs but I have never been over there, I'm not allowed. Usually when I didn't want to go to class I just said I duties at the blue and gold. Today was one of those days. As I was typing I slowly lowered my head down to the desk, and my eyes filled with tears. I started crying. I didn't want to, but when you have all these emotions bottled up in you, you just cry. I hated crying, it showed weakness.

Suddenly the door swung open
"Hey Betty, are you coming to maths?" Said a very familiar voice, I knew who it was. Kevin.
Kevin was my only real friend, I still didn't sit with him at lunch and stuff but we talk a lot and hang out a bit. I left my head on the table so he wouldn't see me crying
"No" I said trying to hide the fact that I was crying
"Come on Betty. Come to mathssss. Come to mathsssss. Come to mathssss"
He said, he knew he was annoying me
"I said no Kevin" I snapped back as I lifted my head up
"Oh nooo Betty, are you okay?"
"Oh what? Ummm" I wiped the tears from my face
"Yes I just stubbed my toe badly, my pinky toe" I said, good cover
"Ahh the little bugger" he said
"Okay Betty, see you later" he said as he walked out. I continued with my article with the little info I knew about the Southside.
