Once Jack was home, he realized that something seemed off. His parents weren't home, or at least the car wasn't in the driveway. Maybe they just went out shopping? But, wouldn't they give him a call or text if they did that? He turned the corner, getting his keys out of his bag.
"Maybe I should call them" he said, turning the keys and opening the door. After he got inside and set down his bag, he grabbed his phone and called his mom. Ring...ring...ring... nothing. He tried calling his dad. Ring... ring... a click goes off.
"Hello?" Jack's dad's voice comes through.
"Dad! Where are you? Where's mom?"
"Didn't you see the note?"
"No. What note?"
"There's a note on the fridge. It should explain why your mother and I are gone. I can't really tell you in words. Let's just say that I'm 'not allowed to'."
"Wait. I'm confused, why does it say-"
And with that, the call went silent. His dad had hung up, without a click. Weird... "Why does the note say that... 'We were taken away from the house for a reason. Don't come looking, we don't want you involved in this.'?" He asked himself. "What took my parents, or who?" Jack checked the time as he clenched the note in his hands. 2:57 pm... the rest of the day was going to be a long one for sure. What would he do without anyone home? He didn't have any siblings to mess around with. Not to mention he probably shouldn't tell anyone that his parents has just gone missing all of a sudden.[ABOUT 5 HOURS LATER IN A GROUP CHAT]
Colby: so, you all ready for a spooky day tomorrow?
Jack: idk how you're into all this stuff.
Colby: just a thing
Simon: c'mon, Jack. Lighten up on him. Everyone has their interests.
Jack: but sometimes Colby just scares me. Simon, you know this all too well.
Colby: you don't ACTUALLY mean that, do you?
Jack: *sigh* I do, and honestly Colby. You tend to really concern me.
Simon: so anyways, back on topic for tomorrow?
Colby: HECK YES BOI! Anyways...
Jack: Dear God.
Colby: we should probably bring some flashlights, because y'know, forests and dark buildings? We might even come across more abandoned buildings while we're at it. But they're probably gonna be smaller than the main one we're headed to.
Simon: that sounds awesome, but do you know of there have ever been any ghost sightings around your house?
Colby: not that I know of, because nobody I know has ever come up to me and told me if anything happened while they were staying the night.
Jack: meanwhile I'm at home just chilling. I don't have any ghosts here XD
And I'm 100% fine with thatColby: that sucks, sometimes ghosts and stuff like that can be super interesting.
Simon: Colby is right!
Jack: anyways, it's getting late, and I want to be awake early enough that I can get to Colby's house in time tomorrow. :p
Not to mention if we keep talking about haunted things I might not get sleep.Colby: good night! Sleep tight! Don't let the spiders bite! Lol jk
Don't stay up too late tho.Jack: y'know Colby sometimes I hate you.
Colby: understandable.
Simon: even if you are late tomorrow morning, we'll wait.
Jack: thanks, guys. Good night!
(Jack has logged off)
Simon: I think I'll head to bed as well. Good night, Colby!
Colby: night Simon.
