The young hacker crept down the hallways of Talon HQ. Turning right, into the cell block, she locked the door.

Jack's head snapped up at the sudden disturbance. He struggled to stand, only to be cut short by the woman.

"Save your strength, Morrison." Sombra ordered quietly.

"Who are you?" Jack demanded an answer. He felt like he had been in the dark for to long.

"You can call me Sombra." She replied quietly, walking across the large room to unlock a chest. She pulled out Jack's pulse rifle and Ana's sniper rifle.

"The door will unlock 4 minutes after I leave." She continued. "You'll have to find your own way out, or die in the attempt."

Sombra suppressed a shudder as she explained, "it'll be better than what they'll do to you if you stay."

"Why are you doing this?" Jack asked.

"You saved the life of my friend, so now I am saving yours," Sombra looked straight into the red visor. "We are even now, Jack."

The young woman started towards the door before she paused, "you're still heroes, Jack. Both of you are."

"We are ghosts."

"Then haunt those who have wronged you." The hacker chuckled, leaving before either of the heroes could form a response.

As Sombra said, the door to the holding cell slid open a few minutes after she had left.

"Come on, Ana, we need to get out of here."

---------------------------------------------------------

Sombra stood just out of sight of the two Talon agents, eavesdropping on their conversation.

"They've escaped!" Reaper growled to Amélie.

"How?"

"If I knew, this wouldn't have happened, would it?"

"I will find them. They should still be nearby." Amélie, the infamous Widowmaker, replied, stepping away. As the sniper left the holding cell, Sombra stepped away from the wall and gently grabbed her arm, leading her away.

"Amélie, don't you know who those people are?" Sombra asked the sniper quietly.

"They are a target, nothing more."

"Do you remember before? Before you turned into this?" Sombra gestured around her, "do you remember when you were Amélie Lacroix? When you were happy? When you had your own purpose?"

Widowmaker stood rock steady as the younger girl poked her in the chest with each statement.

"Do you remember when you were you?"

"When I was so crazy as to murder my own husband in cold blood? When I felt like an outcast? Is that what you mean?" The sniper whipped the hackers questions right back at her.

"That's not what I meant."

"Do you think I don't think about my husband every night, the joy I felt in killing him? What it has done to me?" The sniper snarled.

Sombra sighed, "I know, Amélie. I know, okay? But do you want to kill some of the few people who still hold his loss heavy in their hearts? Some of his closest friends?"

Amélie looked away from her friend. "You don't know what it is like in that conditioning chamber. You don't know half of what happened to make me into this. You do not know the struggle that I face."

"I watched it happen. I tried to stop it. I did all I could, in my own way. I hacked the system to show test results as false, so they wouldn't do anything else to you. I did what I could without being found out." Sombra sighed.

"You're the best hacker in the world, you couldn't be caught."

"Who else could hack into the Talon database other than someone who already has access to it? They would eventually figure out it was me if I made too many changes."

Amélie turned around and walked away, leaving the younger woman standing in the hallway.
