A New Love

Part 2

I almost ran home. I had been out with my best friend for almost 2 hours and now, when we had went two different ways, it was completely dark and the only light there was were the street lights. To my left it was only a dark forest that seemed really creepy.

Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me. My own steps were fast, but it felt like the other persons steps were even faster. I started to run and heard the other persons steps get even faster.

Right now I was 100% sure about that this person was following me! I could feel tears welling up in my eyes as I got scared and worried. I felt my knees were weak under me and soon I had to stop running, I couldn't see a damn thing, but at the same time I didn't want to give up and just let this creepy person get his hands around me. I tried to run a bit longer, but I got slowed down by my tears and my weak knees.

Right now I could hear the followers steps right behind me and I could hear his or her breath in my neck.

Suddenly I just stopped and stood completely still and just shook. I felt two arms wrap around my shoulders and I could hear a low raspy voice in my right ear, whispering calmly to me.

"Calm down my dear" he said. "I won't hurt you"

Somewhere deep in my mind I recognized that voice, that kind, irish accent, but I couldn't place who it belonged to, but I knew that this person never were about to hurt me. Relieved as I was I cried even more and leaned backwards onto his chest and made him take an even stronger grip around me. When I had calmed down a bit I turned around to face the guy that held me. I huged him when I saw it only was Niall.

"Why were you running away from me?" he whispered in my ear.

"Sorry, I thought you were someone else.." I whispered back as a tear fell out of my eye.

He didn't answer and just held me tighter. "Come on, let's go inside" he said and took my hand as he started to walk towards my house.
