(1) : Lunch with the "troubled ones"

"Wow... just two more weeks".

"Yeah", you agreed. "You guys gonna go"?

"Course, gotta get some ladies to dance with Casey Jones", he smirked.

"Please, you'd be better off with a mop, Jones", April teased, making you both share a laugh. Casey pouted but laughed along after a while.

"Too bad we can't bring the guys to prom. I was looking forward to dancing to a slow song with Leo".

"Donnie was looking forward to that too. But those human watches he made are malfunctioning, so they can't blend in".

Casey leaned against the lockers as you and April were putting your notebooks away.
"I may not be smart, but why don't we have our own prom"?

"What, like a team mutant prom", you asked.

"That actually doesn't sound bad. We can have it somewhere private and invite our other friends. I'm in".

Casey and April looked at you for your opinion.
"Heh, what the hell. Lets have a mutant prom".

You smiled with your friends to the idea. Guess you were gonna get a chance to dance a night with your love.

"oh, just imagine us in those frilly dresses, April", You joked as you spun around. You ended up bumping into someone causing you both to fall.

"Damn, I'm sorry". You turned yourself around seeing who it was.

It was one of the new transfer students, who was carrying papers on late homework he probably was trying to get turned in.

"It's alright. Really". You helped him pick up his papers. His friend also helped pick up his friend and the papers. You handed your stack back to him. "Really, I didn't see you there-"

"No, I understand. I wasn't paying much attention either".

April stepped forward, seeing if there was a problem.

"I blame myself for distracting Daniel. Wasn't letting him pay attention to his surroundings", the other guy spoke. "I'm Echo, by the way".

"I'm-".
"We were just leaving", April interrupted, pulling you away and walking off.

"Whoa, April slow down", you pulled your arm from her grasp. "What was that back there"?

"I just didn't want them giving you trouble, (Y/n). They have been causing enough at school since they exchanged here".

"What are you talking about"?

"They were the ones that started that fight out on the parking lot with two of our star basketball players. And they graffitied the wall on the back of the school with some weird symbol".

"April, you can't judge someone because of what you heard about them. And maybe they had good reasons for those things".

".. I know you believe in second chances, (Y/n), but I.. I just can't trust these guys. Please don't do something that will make things worse".

".. Maybe you should think about what you say before saying it to me, April". You sighed. "See you in History.. And I think I'm gonna sit somewhere else at lunch".

Before April could apologize you had already walked off.

But you could see that April didn't trust delinquents. Not even Casey when they first met till she got to know him more.
