THE BATTLE was won, the city was destroyed, but the aliens were killed and Loki was locked up. And in Tony's book, this was the time for celebration.
So here we find the the Avengers. Awkwardly sitting around a table in a cramped shawarma shop in one of the few standing buildings in New York City. The air was musty, but the heroes were exhausted and couldn't find it in themselves to complain, or talk in general.
Except the billionaire himself of course.
"Widow, remember when you stated that I was too 'unstable' for the boy band?" Said red headed women groans and rolls her eyes, already knowing where this was headed. "Who was it that carried the nuc again?"
The other four heroes sighed in annoyance while Tony smiled smugly at Natasha - who already had a comeback at the ready.
"I also said you were compulsive". The Russian replied, both annoyance and amusement laced in her tone.
"She's got you there, Stark." Barton couldn't help but comment with a sly grin when the billionaire glared at him from across the table.
"You know what Legolas-"
"You did good, Tony." The soldier comments before an argument breaks out between them. They'd just gotten through one war, and Steve could seriously do with some sleep before they start another.
"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Spangles." God Steve hated that name. "Really warms my heart."
"What if we just take a moment to enjoy the peace?" Bruce pipes up, too tired to deal with Tony. "I mean, we've all had a long day, we stopped and alien army and locked up cat brain, Loki-"
"Banner, Loki is of Asgard. Do not speak poorly of him, no matter what he has done." The God cuts Bruce off, defending his brother. "And I must take him to Asgard now. My Father and people will need to punish him accordingly." Thor roughly pushes himself away from the table, ready to take his brother and leave.
"Thor, we've been through this. SHIELD needs to interrogate him first," Natasha huffs in frustration, sick of having to explain this to the hardheaded God. "You can take him back in the morning."
"But-"
"C'mon Point Break, give the Widow a break. You can have the psychopath back in the morning." Tony butts in, "for now, me being the generous person I am," scoffs of disbelief sound around the table, "I will let you stay at Stark Tower. Not everything has been destroyed and there are plenty of rooms."
The Avengers contemplate it for a moment, most of them already coming up with excuses before Clint speaks up,
"C'mon guys, we're exhausted and could do with a place to crash. Might us well take up the offer." The archer reasons, getting a nod in appreciation from Stark. "Plus, Starks rich. Means he's gotta have some of the best mattresses, better than anywhere else anyway."
Everyone agrees, surprisingly even Thor, who's seemingly too tired to even bother arguing.

Clint was right, the mattresses felt like sleeping on clouds.
The team each had a room each on the same floor, Tony couldn't be bothered assigning each one their own floor at the time. Either way, each slept soundly until morning came and everyone slowly got out of bed.
Steve was the first one up and took it upon himself to look around while waiting for everyone else to get up. Steve was a man who respected privacy, but it was Tony Stark, so Steve had no care about respecting his privacy.
Everything in the place was expensive, that was something Steve expected. What he didn't expect was to find a photo of a younger, happy Tony with a young brunette girl with dark eyes and an overjoyed smile in the lounge room. He had never seen Tony with this girl and couldn't help but be curious. But even Steve knew better to ask.
Clint however, had no boundaries when it came to privacy.
The team had finally gotten up and were having breakfast around the table waiting for Fury to ring and let them know that Loki was free to go back to Asgard with Thor. Clint had decided to turn the tv on to try and waste some time when he saw the photo.
"Tony, who's the girl?" Clint brought the photo to the teams attention, causing Tony's eyes to widen with both shock and pain.
"Clint! That could be private-" Steve goes to scold before he gets cut off by Natasha.
"That's your daughter isn't it?" Natasha connects the dots, remembering the files she read. "Her name was Esmeralda? Esme? Es-"
"Estelle." Tony responds, a faraway look in his eyes. "Estelle Wilde."
"I never knew you had a daughter, Tony." Bruce comments lightly, intrigued by this newfound information on his colleague.
"What happened to the young maiden?" Thor questions, innocent curiosity lacing his voice as he looks over the photo.
"I sent her away. It was too dangerous after I became Iron Man. I couldn't risk losing her." Tony frowns, remembering the day, "I haven't seen her for six years."
"Maybe it's time." Steve catches Tony's attention, "everything's calm at the moment, and as your team, it's our duty to help keep her safe too." Steve's statement seemed thoughtful enough, however the Captain was really just hoping that this girl would make Tony less of a smartass and more tolerable.
Tony eyes the team before looking at the photo lost in thought. Steve had a point, maybe it was time to see his little girl again.

So first part done!
This part was really a nothing bit, but I thought I should start off with the team dynamics rather than the normal how it began stuff. But other than that, what did you guys think?
Too long?
Too short?
Not detailed enough?
Too detailed?
And do you think I've gotten the characters right so far?And lastly, thank you for reading! Until next time,
