Part 2 Chapter 3

Phil's POV

I saw Dan's face light up at my words, which was the reaction I was hoping for.

"Oh my God Phil! For real!?" He exclaimed, jumping up and down like a child on Christmas morning.

"For real." I confirmed. I laughed as I watched him bounce around the dining room. He suddenly sprung at me and engulfed me in a giant hug, nearly suffocating me.

"Phil," He whispered quietly after he had calmed down.

"What?"

"I know I may seem really excited right now, but, I just want you to know that, I love you. I really do." I felt my heart go warm at his words and my heart did that flippy over thing that only really happens when he's around. He moved his face towards mine and pressed our lips together softly. I could instantly feell my face becoming hotter. I noticed that a lot now I don't have my mask, how much I actually blush.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed back. I love Dan too, a lot. I just forget to say it sometimes... or he cuts me off with one of these kisses.

"Oi! You two. Get a room." We break apart quickly to see PJ standing in the entrance to the room, leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. I felt my face burn more but it obviously didn't phase Dan that much.

"Fine." He said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me out the room.

"As much as I love your kisses Dan, we really need to pack." I said as we walked up the spiral staircase to our room.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Dan said, pushing the door open. I could almost hear the excitement creeping back into his voice. It makes me happy seeing him happy.

"Is Lion coming too?" He asked as he pulled two large suitcases out from under our bed.

"Of course." I said, glancing over at Lion. His little ears pricked up at his name. He was still in the same corner as when I left but he wasn't asleep anymore, just laying down relaxing.

A few hours later, Dan was sitting on top of his suitcase, desperately trying to squeeze everything in. As for me, I had managed to arrange everything nicely so it sat inside my suitcase without overflowing.

"I'll be right back Dan." I said as I headed towards the door.

"OK." He groaned. He had now resorted to jumping up and down on the thing.

"Maybe you don't need all those shirts." I suggested. He looked up at me.

"OK. I've never been anywhere before so I don't really know what I do and don't need." He explained, plonking down onto the bed.

"When I come back, we'll sort through you stuff. Don't worry, we have plenty of time." I said as i began to slide out the door.

"OK." He  sighed and collapsed onto his back.

I rolled my eyes as briskly jogged down the stairs. I was heading under the castle to Louise's Lab. If Dan's protected by me or not, he's still royalty and technically so am I now. There's only two of us out there ( and Lion ) and we'll be all alone. As lovely as that sound, we'll still be under threat, so I've spoken with Louise and she's made us a small, portable force field to put around the place we're staying so no one can get to us while we sleep.

I pressed the button to the Lab and the large, metal doors slid open. Louise was in the corner, fiddling with something or other. She heard the doors open and spun around. "Phil! Hi!" She exclaimed as I walked over.

"Hey Louise, got the force field thing?" I asked as I Lent against the desk top.

"Sure do." She said and pulled out a fairly small black box from her back pocket. It had a small, flashing red button on one side and a switch on the other.

"I'll show you how it works." She said and flipped the switch. "Flip the switch to change how big you want the diameter to be. At the moment I have it set to 10cm." She pressed the button and a transparent blue bubble  warped around her hands, sealing her hands. "The force field wont let anything in or out." She demonstrated with her hands that were trapped inside the small bubble. "Press the button again to destroy the force field." She did as she said and the force field disappeared.

"Thanks so much Louise." I said and held my hand out to take the box.

"This one isn't for you." She giggled. "It only goes up to a metre so it would be very helpful. "She turned around and picked up a larger black box that was under a desk. "This ones yours. Careful, its quite heavy." She explained as she passed it to me. "It works exactly the same. Set it to about 50 metres to make sure you're completely safe." She said as i began to back out the door.

"OK." I replied as I stepped out her Lab. "Thanks again Louise!" I said.

"Any time." And with that. The doors slid back together and I began to awkwardly trudge back up to Dan.

"Dan, could you get the door." I called as I finally reached the top of the stairs. The door to our room was closed and I didnt have any free hands to turn the handle.

Dan opened to door and smiled at me. He looked down at the fairly large black box i was carrying and raised an eyebrow. "Whats that?" He asked. I walked into the room and placed the box on the desk, wiping  the sweat from my forehead.

"It's a portabel force feild." I said and sat down on the bed. "I know we're going traveling and it will be fun but weather you like it or not we're still royalty and I still need to protect you." I explained.

"Ok." Dan sighed. "I managed to remove a few things and get everything in my case." Dan said proudly, nodding his head towards the case to show me.

"Well we're still going to have to take a few things out,we need to put the box somehwere." I joked.

"What!? Phil, you have got to be kidding me!" He groaned in annoyance. I laughed.

"I'm joking Dan. I've got room in my case." I said

Dan glared at me but I could see he was trying to hold back a smile. "You're lucky I like you."
