You're a servant who just started working in the stronghold for Thorn. You have a snake tattoo around your eye.
You scrubbed the floor in the hallway. You had been working all day, and you're starting to get tired. Thorn was a great queen, and she never overworked her servants, but you didnt sleep well last night. You put the sponge back in the bucket, and hand it off to another servant. Your shift was over, finally. You were walking down the hall when you were knocked over by someone running by. "Three moons! I am so sorry!" Qibli said to you. He held out his talon to help you up. "I-its fine." You stuttered. You grabbed his talon, and he helped pull you to your feet. He studied you for a moment. You tried as hard as you could to keep yourself from blushing. You've had a HUGE crush on him for quite a long time. "I...dont't think I've seen you around before." He said, his brows furrowing. "Oh, I-i'm Viper." You said nervously. You realised you were still holding his talon. You didnt want to, but you figured you should probably let go before it got awkward. But wait...he didnt try letting go, either. "Thats a cool name. I'm Qibli!" He said, grinning. He pulled his talon away. You almost died a little inside. "By the way, that tattoo is so cool!" He said, observing your snake tattoo. "Th-thanks!" You said, blushing uncontrollably. "QIBLI!" Thorn's voice bellowed down the hallway. Qibli's eyes widened. "Oh, uh, I've gotta go." He said. He turned to go. "Oh! Hey, meet me here after sundown!" He said. Your eyes widened a little. "Oh, uh yeah! Ok!" You respond. Qibli smiled and turned and ran down the hallway, disappearing around the corner. Once he was gone, you sunk to your knees. Woah... Was all you could think. You shook your head and stood up. You walked down the hall, smiling uncontrollably, looking like a dork.
A few hours later...
You glanced out the window, and saw the last few rays of sun streaking the sky. You got up, and tiptoed to the door, being careful not to wake up your roommate, Cactus. You quietly opened the door and slipped through. You closed the door behind you, and crept down the hall. You soon were at the spot. You looked down both hallways, but there was...no sign of Qibli. Its not completely dark yet, Im just early. You tried reassuring yourself. After a few minutes, you decided he wasnt coming. Your wings slumped, heart sunk, and head hung, you turn to walk back down the hall. "Viper!" A voice whisper-yelled. You whirled around, and saw Qibli walking down the hall. Your heart fluttered, and you smiled. "Sorry Im late." He said grinning nervously. "Its fine." You replied, smiling. He smiled. "Oh, come with me!" He said excitedly. He turned and ran down the hall. You ran after him. The two of you came to the back door. He opened it, and walked outside, holding it open for you. You nodded at him as you walked through. You found yourself in a small courtyard. A torch casted a warm glow over it. He grabbed the torch, and walked forward. He took off, and you followed. You flew next to him, watching the desert below you move by. You glanced up at him. The torch illuminated his face, making the freckles on his snout stand out. After a while, Qibli began a spiraling descent. You were curious, as there was nothing here but a few cacti. The stronghold was now a dot on the horizon. Instead of spiraling down, you tucked in your wings, and dove down. You spread your wings at the last minute, gliding the rest of the way. You landed on the top of a dune, Qibli landing beside you. He dug a small hole in the sand, and set the torch in it. "May I ask, why are we in the middle of nowhere?" You ask him. "Because the middle of nowhere is the best place to do this." He blew out the torch. It was dark at first, but soon your eyes were adjusted to it. Qibli took your chin in his talon, and tilted your head up. You gasp. Above you, the sky was littered with stars. There were swirling tints of purple and blue, and it was the new moon phase for the moons, so it was only stars. "Wow..." you whisper. The stars truly were beautiful. A shooting star streaked across the sky. "Woah, did you see that?!" You say excitedly. Qibli laughed softly. The two of you sat there, gazing up at the starlit sky. "Hey...uh, Viper..." Qibli said suddenly. "Yeah?" You say, looking at him. He looked...nervous?? "You, you know how, in those scrolls, th-the romance ones..." he said nervously. He was looking at the ground, dragging his claw through the sand. You were confused. You knew what he was talking about, you just didnt understand why. "Yeah?" You ask. "And, how when one looks at the other... they feel, they feel like...this weird feeling, where, where they dont know how, or why..." Qibli continued, growing more and more confident. "They dont know how or why, but they feel that they should be together, for the rest of their lives. You know what I mean?" He finished, looking up at you. Your heart beat faster. There could only be one reason why he was talking about this. "Y-yeah, I kn-know what you're talking about." You said quietly. Qibli looked back down at the sand. "I...I, when I bumped into you, earlier, I uh, i..." he laughed nervously. "I, I felt that...with you. I felt that, that feeling." He said. You were speechless. Was he trying to say he loved you? "Viper, I...I love you." He said quietly. Your heart was racing in your chest. "Qibli, I..." you tried speaking. Qibli looked up at you worriedly. "I...I love you too!" You say, smiling. He sat for a moment, speechless. "R-really?!" He said, a smile growing on his face. You nod quickly. He smiled widely. He out one wing around you, and you leaned on him. The two of you, speechless, stayed there, gazing at the starry sky.
