One Week Later

Tomorrow night is the prom. I'm so excited. I just finished everything and I'm going to look bomb. Suddenly, Nat comes in my bedroom. He hops on my bed.
"Can I help you?" I ask.
"Yeah,' says Nat,' don't go to the prom."
"Yeah? Why should I listen to you?" I snicker.
Well, I definitely sound like a jerk.
"Something bad is going to happen if you go. But if you don't go, the same bad thing is going to happen." He says.
"Then, what's the point of not going?" I ask.
"Look, just trust me?" He begs.
"Alright, if something bad's going to happen, can you at least tell me what it is?" I ask.
"It's Scarlett. She's-Naomi?" Mom gently whispers.
I wake up and see her face.
       "Yeah?" I ask.
"You overslept,' she tells me,' you're going to be late."
At school, I'm insanely on edge. My instinct is still really strong. I'm worried that what Nat said is right.
      "Naomi!" Exclaims Kayleigh.
      "You scared me!" I gasp.
"Are you okay? You seem a little on edge." She asks.
A little is definitely an understatement.
"Yeah, no, no, no. I'm just a little worried about something." I say.
"Well, you can always tell me what's going on." Kayleigh assures me.
"Fine,' I give in,' I'm worried that Scarlett's going to do something bad."
"Worried? I thought you said she didn't scare you." Kayleigh says.
"She didn't. Look, it's just a long story. Now, I don't even know if I should go to the prom after all." I sigh.
"You already paid for your ticket, didn't you? Go and have fun." Recommends Kayleigh.
"But I don't want to risk anything bad happening. I'm legit scared." I sigh.
"Look, tomorrow night I'll stay home and keep an eye out for you. I promise nothing bad's going to happen." Assures Kayleigh.
Hopefully, she's right.
