"But it was his fault. He put his leg in front of me." Vanessa complained.
Since Grace, Stephanie and Vanessa were roommates, Grace and Stephanie decided to talk to Vanessa on getting back to the room about what happened earlier that night. They were trying to make her understand that what happened wasn't Alex's fault. Vanessa whom her roommates have noticed to be a cynic still blamed Alex for everything.
"Don't be cynical. We both know what happened was a mistake. Why can't you accept it." Grace scolded.
"I think we need to call a truce. I think we'll have to sit together tomorrow at Rendezvous to iron things out between you two." Stephanie suggested.
"What!" Vanessa shut her wardrobe loud. She went to drop the clothes she took from the wardrobe on her bed. "You must be joking. I don't want to ever see that guy again." Vanessa continued.
Vanessa put on the clothes she took out of the wardrobe. It was her pajamas. She laid on her bed after putting on the pajamas. Grace and Stephanie weren't surprised at Vanessa's revile. They felt it been pointless. For the past few days they've been with her, Vanessa has always been obstinate. Why did they even get their hopes up that she would agree to their plight.

"Bro. Why are you looking so vexed? I thought you met those girls you were telling me about earlier on." Vincent asked angry looking Alex.
Vincent and Alex are roommates. They seemed to get along when they met. They became good friends immediately. Alex got back to the hostel quite early and it was strange because Vincent expected his friend and roommate to make most of his time. It seemed things didn't go as anticipated when Vincent opened the door and saw frowning Alex.
"It's just a girl I accidentally tripped." Alex said.
"Accidentally tripped? That's one hell of an  accident for you to be this vexed." Vincent laughed . He opened his wardrobe.
"It's not funny. I can assure you. The girl made a huge fuss over nothing." Alex looked towards Vincent with a scowl that was meant to prove to Vincent he wasn't accepting his little laugh. Vincent was busy in his wardrobe so he didn't even notice the scowl Alex gave him.
"Really? What happened? I'm sure you don't mind elaborating." Vincent took out a sachet of Digestive Fibre Active biscuit from his provisions bag. He closed the wardrobe with his key and pulled out the key. He pocketed the key. He went to his bed and sat down. He opened his biscuit. He was ready to listen to Alex explain what happened to him.
Alex narrated his ordeal. He tried his best not to leave out any detail.
"Wow. That quite a story. That girl is the most cynical being I've ever heard of.". Vincent concluded. He was gulping down the content of a fanta bottle.
"In fact I don't think I want to talk about this again. It just struck me that it's pointless being angry over this." Alex finalised. Alex got up and changed into his night wear. He was prepared to sleep. As soon as he laid down on his bed to sleep, he heard a violent knock on their door. He got up to answer the door. It was Alex's remaining roommates. It even completely skipped Alex's mind that they had extra roommates because since they came, they have almost never been in the room. Alex opened the door and they pushed Alex aside and went to lie down straight on their beds. Alex looked at them angrily and simply looked away. He never really did like them since they always came back from wherever they went high and drunk. Alex locked the door. He changed into his pajamas and laid on his bed to sleep.

"We are going to use your matriculation number to divide you all into different groups..." Dr. Victor Ikenna, the practical chemistry lecturer said to all the 100 level medical students who were gathered at the Chemistry laboratory. "...you all should check the notice board to know what time you would come in to do your practicals." Mr. Victor continued.
The class got dismissed after about thirty minutes. All the student hurried to get their bags. Alex waited for everyone to get their things before leaving . Alex realised he wasn't the only one waiting for the students to get their bags before getting his. Alex went to get his once the students had cleared away. Once he got there, he found something strange. There were two bags, same looking placed side by side to each other. Alex couldn't tell which bag was his and which wasn't his. Alex took one of the bags and opened it to view its contents.
"What are you doing?" a familiar voice asked Alex.
Alex looked away from the bag  and looked up to see who it was. It was Vanessa.
Not again. Alex thought to himself. Vanessa is the person he never wanted to run into in this school.
"As you can see, I have no idea which bag is mine and which isn't. The contents of the bag will tell me which is mine." Alex elaborated.
"Don't you think that's wrong? What if I have something extremely private that I don't want you to see?" Vanessa revoked.
"If it's wrong, tell me how I'll know which bag is mine and which is yours."
She took the bags and examined them and saw that there was no way she could tell which bag was hers and which wasn't. The colour, size, and shape of the bags were the same. Vanessa zipped open one of the bags and saw her things inside. Alex was struck with astonishment. He found what she did amusing. She just scolded him for something she was doing. She stretched the bag she didn't open to Alex. Alex took the bag and said, "So much for doing the wrong thing to get the right results huh?" He smiled afterwards. Vanessa glared at him and stormed out of the laboratory leaving only Alex behind. Alex was about to step out when the lab technician called him.
