Chapter 4-Going Home
~
This morning I cared a ton about being late to school. Right now, I didn't care anymore about showing up to class. I just wanted to go home. The halls were all empty and considering people were either at lunch or in class, it wasn't that shocking. Actually, it was perfect. I could run down the halls without being spotted. Finally, I found the school's front door by the office and exited the building. Apparently no one saw me or cared that I was leaving school in the middle of the day.

I'm pretty sure they didn't see me. I quickly found my bike and rode off back to my house. When I got there, my mom was still at work so it was the perfect opportunity to go pack my stuff and go somewhere else. Since I had a key to the house, it was pretty easy to get inside without anyone knowing. The only things I packed were some of my clothes, my money so I could buy food, the letter my mom wrote me, and my hair brush, tooth paste and tooth brush, and some other essentials I brought with me when I moved in.

I was all ready to head by home. But technically I couldn't actually go home. My foster mom must have already found another foster kid to take my place. Plus I didn't have enough money for a plane ticket. After trying to figure out what to do exactly, I decided to ask one of my friends here in South Korea if I could stay with her. Surprisingly, she said yes.

After School
~
Jungkook and Ye Seul came through the front door, leading into the living room. They passed the living room and set their bags on the counter. "Good afternoon kids. How was school? And where is (y/n)?" She asked them. The 3rd Years looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. "She ran off in the middle of lunch. I thought she came back home. Let me go check upstairs." Jungkook said as he ran up the stairs and into the room that was filled with girly girl stuff.

"(Y/n), are you in here?" He asked around the room, looking everywhere. As he was looking for the young girl, he found a note on the nightstand next to the girls bed. The teenage boy carefully picked up the note and read through it. After he read it, he collected it in his pocket and shot down the stairs. "Well, was she up there?" Ye Seul asked him, eating a strawberry. "No, she is going back home." He said in between gasps for breath.

Ye Seul almost choked on her strawberry. "You said what now?!" She shouted, now staring Jungkook in the eyes. He handed her the note. "Mom, I think we have a problem. (Y/n) has decided to go back to her foster home in America." The mother's daughter told her, sounding worried. "Well she didn't have enough money for a plane ticket so I doubt she is going back home." The young mother seemed a little worried, but knew she couldn't have gone that far without money for a plane ticket. "Then I think she ran away."

The mom looked up at her daughter. "Then where would she have gone and why has she decided to run away?" She asked curiously. Jungkook looked up. "The rumor." He said. They looked over at him, seeming confused by his words. "What rumor?" Ye Seul asked him curious. "You and (y/n) are dating." He stated from the girl at lunch from earlier that day. "What?! But we are not dating. Who made up that stupid rumor?" He could tell that Ye Seul was getting frustrated.

Kookie let out a sigh, "It was the popular girl Mi Jin." Ye Seul slapped her head with the palm of her hand. "I think I know why she did this. But first we need to find (y/n). Like my mom said, she couldn't have gone too far without a plane ticket. Let's go to the park and look. She's always wanted to go there." Ye Seul grabbed Jungkook by the wrist and led him down to the park. Sure enough there (y/n) was, sitting on a swing eating a churro stick.

(Y/n)'s POV
~
I was sitting on a swing, eating a churro I got from a close local restaurant. I decided not to head to my friends house since she lived all the way across South Korea. My plan was just to stay at the park until someone I know founded me. Sure enough after 20 minutes at the park Ye Seul and Jungkook find me and are walking towards me. "What are you doing here?" I asked them, watching the wood chips go into the air as I stopped myself from swinging.

Ye Seul and Jungkook took seats on the swings next to mine. "Why did you run away?" My sister asked me. "I just couldn't take it anymore. No one seemed to like me in the first day of school and now there is this random rumor about me and you dating? Like first it was about me being American and being adopted. I kind of don't want to deal with people anymore." To be honest, I didn't even want to talk about this situation at the moment but it sounded like Ye Seul wanted to know so I told her anyway.

My sister sighed. "(Y/n), you didn't have to deal with this stuff back in America before?" She asked me, sounding surprised. I shook my head. "Look, things like this are going to happen. You can't just run away because you don't like it. Wherever you go in the future, there are still going to be people like Mi Jin. Whether you like it or not. That is just how the world works." That was when it hit me. I was being selfish. Running away thinking I could escape this all when other girls and boys were dealing with the same thing as me.

After the chat with Ye Seul, I felt a lot better. I asked her what we were going to do about the rumor and she said to ignore them all and make them believe it was fake, which it was. When I walked into the house, my mom ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. "Thank god you're safe. Please never do something like that ever again." I hugged her back. "Thanks for loving me." I told her. She smiled. "Of course. Why wouldn't I love you?" She asked me, seeming confused. "Never mind. I'm going to go get ready for bed now."

Everyone else was sound asleep, except for me. For some reason I just couldn't sleep. I sat up against my head board and pulled out the letter my mom gave me. I re-read the letter and thought about what my last name was. It was (l/n). I grabbed my phone off of my bedside table and looked up my mothers name. She was alive. This meant I still had the option to see her again.
