Harry

It all happened so quickly. Madelynn was pulled away from me and into his arms. She looked so scared.

"Leave her alone!" I yelled as I tried to reach out to her. I felt myself being held tightly, I couldn't do anything.

"No, it's not that simple. See, you took away my world and now its time to take away yours." I felt my blood go cold as the memory rushed back. "Oh, and don't even try calling your gang. I know what you're thinking."

"I didn't mean to! She took the bullet for you."

"But will your girl do the same?" He pulled out a blade and held it by her neck.

"Wait... Kian? Is that you?"

"Madelynn? Well this became even more interesting." Kian had a sinister grin. "So you killed Daisy and now you're dating Madelynn? Why do you take away people from me?"

"What do you mean?"

"Ki-"

"Shut up bitch. You see, Madelynn and I were together, happily in love. I knew there was something going on. She's a slut, a whore. She was with you all along." Kian pushed Madelynn on to the floor and began kicking her. I couldn't do anything and it hurt me. I was restricted, held down. Madelynn was hurting even though she put on a brave face, I saw right through it.

"It wasn't love." Madelynn stated and it made Kian angry. He punched her in the stomach and Madelynn instantly coughed up blood.

"What?" He growled, his voice dangerously low.

"It wasn't love." She repeated. I admired her braveness, something I wouldn't dare do. Kian was fuming, his grip on the blade was tight and I knew he was ready to attack.

"Don't you fucking dare touch her." I glared at him.

"Or what?"

"Or this." Madelynn whacked her head back as strong as she could into Kian, making him fall back and drop the blade. She caught it and pointed it towards kian who was now slightly scared.

"I must say, I'm impressed, but I wouldn't do that." Kian pulled out a gun and held it to her head.

"What do you want?" Madelynn asked.

"A dead Harry and a mourning Madelynn." His smile made me sick.

"That's not gonna happen." She responded as she turned the blade around and pointed it towards herself.

"Maddie, I swear to fucking god if you dare." I bursted into tears at the thought of her dying.

"I agree with him, don't do it."

"But I would if it meant you left Harry alone."

"Baby, I know how you are but please, not like this."

"Harry, I love you. I'd do anything to protect you." She walked up to me. I didn't want her to let go.

"Madelynn babe, don't do it." Kian grinned. "What if I shoot him first?" He pointed the gun at me.

"Shoot me then." I challenged.

"No. Shoot me." Madelynn cut me off completely as she stood infront of me, still holding the blade towards herself.

"Hard decisions. What do I do? I could kill both of you, but I want one of you to suffer the way I did. It's like vampires and wolves, you kill their mate, they kill yours."

"You make me sick." I yelled.

"I know I do. Now Madelynn, will you do me the honours?"

He was dangerously close to her. The gun was aimed at Maddie and so was the blade in her hand, at herself. Everything went by so fast, the blade was in Madelynn's stomach faster than the bullet was which made Kian scared, causing him to drop the gun. I finally managed to gain the strength to get out of his grip. Before I knew it, my vision was red and I was holding the gun to his head.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't shoot you right here right now."

"I don't have one."

"H-Harry, dont do it." Madelynn whispered as I took a quick glance towards her.

Kian was up and running. I dropped the gun and ran to her, pulling out my phone and calling the ambulance and the boys.

"Baby, stay strong."

I could see her closing her eyes. I pulled out the blade and ripped off my shirt, applying pressure on the wound. She was in pain and I didn't know what to do. I pressed my lips against hers, hoping it would distract her from the pain.

"Harry... I love you." She spoke weakly.

"I love you too but you're not going."

"I'll try not."

"You're stupid. Why would you take it for me?"

"Because I know if the roles were reversed, you would have done the same." She smiled.

I could hear the sirens of the ambulance come closer as I held onto her.

"Harry, I love you."

"Stop saying it, you're not going."

The ambulance arrived and picked up Maddie. I climbed into the back and sat beside her, holding her hand. Her grip on me was weak but it was better than nothing. The medics worked quickly, applying pressure and trying to stop the blood loss. The heart monitor was attached to her and it broke my heart at how slow her heart was beating.

I was forced out the ambulance and into the waiting room as Madelynn was rushed to the emergency room. The stab wound was deep and it had punctured her stomach lining.

"Harry!" Josh yelled as he ran up to me and engulfing me. Josh, being the dad he is, me managed to calm me down instantly. "Its okay. Let it all out." I bursted out crying.

"Its all my fault. I should have just taken the bullet. I knew today was gonna be a bad day."

"Its not your fault."

"Yes it is! I'm the reason why she almost died. If I had just taken it, she wouldn't be here." I pulled myself away from his grip and ran out.

I needed some fresh air. I couldn't handle being inside, knowing it was all my fault. I hated the feeling, knowing there was nothing I could do. I promised to keep her safe, I promised Chip and I've let him down.

------

Hours passed and I was still sat outside. It was 3am and I hadn't moved at all. I saw Chip from the corner of my eye coming towards Me and sitting beside me.

"Hey Harry, don't beat yourself up. It was inevitable and besides, she took it willingly. There's only a few people she'd take it for and you're one of them. She loves you, she tells me this every day. Now go in, she wants to see you."
