Leaving

I hear a scream. A very annoying scream. A scream that sounded like a demanding screech. My eyes open to see my white ceiling.

I look at my clock, the numbers 8:00 shining bright in my dimly lit room. I press snooze and turn on my side, pulling my blankets over my head.

The second my eyes close, my door opens. "Larry! Wake up! We'll be late!" My father, Neville Longbottom, entered my room and pulled my blanket off my bed.

I shivered at the cold air. I sit up quickly, and glare at my dad. He pulled me out of bed and shoved clothes into my arms.

"Get dressed. Mum's making pancakes." He left the room and ran back downstairs. Pancakes? Mum's pancakes? Yes!

I quickly got dresses and ran back downstairs to the smell of maple syrup. "Morning, Larry," said my mum, Luna Longbottom. She started plating the pancakes, as I sat down on my blue chair.

We all ate breakfast rather quickly, and ran out the door. We finally reached Kings Cross Station and ran through Platforms nine and ten.

We were ten minutes early, and in that time, Mum kissed me thirty times and Dad gave me three bone crushing hugs.

I ran onto the train and, surprisingly, found an empty compartment. I put my trunk over my head and sat down. Only then did I realize my sister, Martha, was behind me.

How did I not notice her? Is that normal? I decided not to think about it too much. The train began to move, and Martha and I waved at our parents until they were out of sight. "Well," said Martha, "off to school!"
