Today he was going to say it, he told himself that he was going to tell her. It had been a long time since their whole ordeal with the contracts and what not. He had been hanging out with Cala Maria a lot lately and his relationship with her had grown a lot. They were just friends at first. But Mugman, always felt so happy when he was around her. Contemplating his thoughts for a long time he knew that what he felt was authentic. He had spent a while gathering up the courage to tell her, a scary thing to do. What if she dosent like me back?  Was the thought that his mind dwelled on the most. He was deathly afraid of rejection almost to the point where he would think of trashing the plan entierly. But he overcame it,and now he was ready.
It was night time, not to far into it though. The sun had only set a while ago and in just egnough time for the sky of stars to show.
Cala Maria sat their close to mugman looking out into the large vast ocean. They had a bit of conversation before the current moment. It was kept to a minimal, mostly due to Mugman's lack of participation. He was thinking and prepairing his exact words. He poked his fingers together nervously, his mind teeming he took a deep breath in. "... so Cala..." he said. She looked down at him. He shifted a bit, whatever he just planned to say was all scrapped at this moment. "...Cala...What I ment to say was, well we've know each other for such a long time. I think your actually really great, and I know... that I like you." He blurted out as fast as he possibly could. Instantly angry at himself. He was so much more fond of Cala than that. He couldnt even fit it into one sentence or compose it into words. He looked down avoiding Cala's reaction, the fear of it being negative made his heart beat with an unknown feeling.  There was no response for a moment. The only sound was the water as it licked the rocks of the ocean. For a heartbeat it was only Cala and him right there, in their small increment of time he could of sworn they were the only two in the world. Mugman closed his eyes he could already feel his legs quiver. What a stupid idiot I am. He thought angrily at himself.
"Mugman." Cala Maria said placing her hand near him. He looked up from his trance. "...Mugman I think your pretty cool too, your really nice." She said pausing her sentence. Mugman felt his heart rate shoot up to the roof,  he was practically sweating everywhere at this point,  even though it was quite cool outside.
Cala smiled looking down at him, "I really cant belive youd like someone like me... but...I see you more as friend Mugman. I hope that is okay." She said simply.
What..
Mugman had to stop for a second and think.
What did he think. He heard what she had just said. What next, what would he say? He didnt know. He felt his excitement drop. He felt as if he was going to cry, he wasnt and he couldn't not here and not now.
Again the sound of the waves pressed against his thoughts almost distracing him.
He felt humilated and completely crushed. He wanted to hide somewhere and just forget about the stupid embarrassment he had just made of himself. Because he already knew he wasnt good egnough.
"Hey mugs we can always be friends." Cala Maria said, her voice was calm and placid.
Mugman so shocked, he couldnt even speak. He could only stand there wishing to go away. Wishing to leave and he hated himself for it.
"Mugs dont be mad.."
No response.
Cala Maria's voice changed to almost frantic. "Mugman please..." She pressed Mugman again, hoping to hear a response. She too was afraid that she had hurt Mugman in someway.
Mugman took it in himself to just lie for one more second. He would take his pain and his heartbreak and hide it in himself for just that one last moment.
For he did not want to hurt the one he thought he loved.
"Ah Cala...   I-i its okay. As long as your not mad at me it will be fine." Mugman said looking her in the eyes witch took as much courage he had left in himself.  Lies.
Lies, lies. Mugman could lie.
"I'm not mad. But its getting late. Im afraid ill have to leave." She said. Mugman nodded lightly. "Ill see you sometime again Cala..."
Cala Maria left Mugman.
Mugman was only left to himself now, now he was the only one who could judge now.
The water he now stood in was now up to his legs. His head turned to the horizon she left at.
Nothing could be said. His worst fear had come true. He fell into the water witch was oddly still. His hands sinking into the wet sand below. He let himself cry.
His image store back to him threw the water. His hand reached out of the water and grabbed his neck. Pulling him down, would he resist not to feel the salt water fill his nose? His tears though wet and painful dripped from his eyes. Could only be differentiated from the sea by the soul they contained. While the sea was nothing more than a reflection.
They fell down his face, rippling the image of himself.  The one he didnt even care to see.
What next? He had his thoughts. Not to go home but to travel somewhete else to rid his pain in the most cowardly way possible. To run and hide from it was the thing  Mugman would do, he would refuse to meet the hand of himself one more time. What  a looser.
