F I F T E E N

Riley Rivera

We went inside and to the kitchen. Alex nowhere to be found. Jonah and I got waterbottles and drank them in like 30 seconds.

We looked at each other, breathing heavily afterwards.

We started laughing at how tired we were. "What do ya wanna do now?" He asked.

I looked around trying to think. I gasped. "Let's play hide-n-seek!" I said with my eyes wide.

He chuckled and looked down. "I mean, sure" he said. "Okay you're it" I said. "Okay. I'll count to 60." Jonah said covering his eyes.

"1...2...3...4..." I tiptoed down the stairs and into the movie room. I hid behind all the seats. Since the door to enter is at the front he wouldn't find me so fast.

I curled up in a ball and sat there for a while.

"Ready or not here I come!" He hollered like a little kid. I smiled.

I could hear him walking around upstairs. He went to the top floor for a minute then came back down to the main floor.

Eventually I heard him come down the stairs. I covered my mouth to prevent me from laughing.

"Rileyyy" he said searching around. He came into the movie room and searched around. I could see him through the seats.

He started walking up middle. He became more and more visible. Apparently I did too.

"Found ya!" He said. I stood up and walked closer to him.

"Okay...but there's one more rule." I said.

"What's that?" He said as I started walking away slowly. "You gotta catch me!" I said running up the stairs. "Riley!" He exclaimed.

I ran into the kitchen and stood behind the island. He came up the stairs and saw me. "Riley Rivera you are in big trouble" he grinned.

I ran towards the living room which was a huge mistake. He came in and speed walked towards me.

I backed into a corner not knowing what to do.

He came close to me. Our bodies were touching. The only noise was us breathing steadily.

Our faces inches apart. He cupped my cheek with his hand. "Caught you." He whispered.

We stared into each other's eyes for a couple seconds before we started leaning in.

"Hey you guys want-" Alex interrupted our moment. We quickly got away from each other. "You guys want pizza?" Alex said.

"Uh sure." I stuttered.

"Alright." She said walking out.

It was around 8pm and Daniel was over hanging out with us. Alex and I had made up already.

We were sitting in the living room talking and joking around. I was in between Daniel and Jonah. Jonah had his arm around me.

"Hey, Hey guys" I said. "Hey, Hey Riley" Daniel mocked me. I gave him a playful glare.

"I have a funny joke" I grinned. "Okay" Alex said. "Go on"

"What's the difference between a fly and a bird?" I asked. "I don't know, what?" Jonah replied.

"A bird can fly but a fly can't bird" I started laughing. So did everyone else.

"It's so bad!" Daniel said in between laughs.

We were in tears we were laughing so hard. It wasn't even that good of a joke and we all managed to die laughing from it.

We continued chatting and stuff until midnight. I had fallen asleep in Jonah's arms.

Jonah Marais

I looked at the time. 12:43am. Riley was sleeping already. I decided to take her down to her room.

I picked her up bridal style and walked down the stairs.

I got Daniel to follow so he could help with the blankets.

We got to her room and Daniel pulled her blanket over. I laid her down. He put the blanket over her.

I leaned over and kissed her forehead.

"You guys are too cute." Alex said standing in the doorframe.

I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.

After that I went upstairs and got ready for bed. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, etc. etc. Then I crawled into bed.

We had school the next morning. I was dreading it.

I couldn't sleep. I was wide awake.

An hour pasted. Then my phone buzzed. I checked to see that it was Riley.

I set my phone down and tip-toed down the stairs.

I saw Riley just getting up the stairs as I was on my last step. "Where should we go?" Riley asked. "I have a spot." I replied.

"Okay." She responded. "But we're gonna have to steal Alex's car for the night" I said. "Fine by me." She replied.

We took her keys and hopped into her car.

We drove for a while until we got to a bunch of trees. "Did you bring me here to murder me?" She jokes. "No I promise." I chuckled.

We got out of the car and started walking. I held her hand and led her so she wouldn't get scared.

We walked though trees and bushes.

We finally got to the cliff. It overlooked the entire city. "Jonah...it's gorgeous..." she said in awe.

You could see for miles. The stars were shining extra bright where we were.

Riley walked over to the side a looked at this one part of the city. "It really is amazing Jonah." She said looking back at me.

We stood there studying the view. She was my view.

I had to kiss her. I had to. I couldn't hold back for much longer.

I speed walked over to her, grabbed her face and kissed her in the most passionate way possible.

All I could think was 'finally. Finally.'

I gently put my hand overtop of his, which was cupping my face.

Fireworks going off in my stomach like crazy. I was so happy. His lips against mine felt so right.

Everything that happened between us was right.

I felt like everything else in the world just stopped. Nothing else mattered.

We parted. "Damn." I said letting out a breath. He put his forehead against mine. "You're a really good kisser" he whispered.

"So are you." I responded. I had the biggest smile on my face. I didn't know I liked him this much until now.
