Riley Rivera

We were all sitting around a campfire roasting hotdogs for supper. I was next to Shannon, Jonah was next to Blair, and Alex was next to Trevor.

Jonah and Blair were across from me. I could see them laughing and making jokes. I mean yeah he can have other friends that are girls but, like I said, I have trust issues.

I admit, I was getting kinda jealous. I was put into a bad mood because of it.

"Hey guys I'm gonna go take a walk if that's okay." I said standing up. "For sure sweetie go ahead. Just take the orange tape with you so you don't get lost." Shannon replied.

"Okay sure." I said digging into the backpack behind the tent.

I got the tape and started walking. Everyone 15 steps or so I was tying tape to the trees.

I liked having alone time. It look my mind off stuff.

I didn't wanna think about Jonah being with someone else. I made me sick to my stomach.

I found a rock to sit on and watched the lake in front of me. I got lost deep in thought.

I focused on the way the lake curved around the rocks and the shape the water made.

"That's kinda dangerous ya know." Jonah said startling me. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." He smiled sitting next to me.

"Babe what's up?" He asked. "I don't know." I lied. "Come on Riley." He said.

I stayed quiet for a couple seconds.

"Does Blair like you?" I asked. "Blair? Maybe. I don't know. I don't like her though." He replied.

"Are you sure? The way you guys were laughing and joking around together, you guys looked like a couple." I said.

"Oh yeah, a couple of besties" Jonah replied making us laugh.

"Please don't feel intimidated. I'm into you and only you babe. I promise." He said putting an arm around me.

"Okay." I said.

It was around 1am and I couldn't sleep. I was wide awake. I decided to to grab a water bottle from the cooler.

"Riley?" Someone whispered making me jump. I turn around to see it was only Blair.

"Oh hey Blair." I said taking the water bottle out. "Why are you still up?" She asked. "Couldn't sleep." I replied.

"Oh okay." She smiled. There was only a bit of moonlight shining through the tent, that was reflecting off the water near the tent. But other than that it was dark.

Jonah Marais

"Why are you still up?"

"Couldn't sleep."

"Oh okay."

I was still awake. I just had my eyes closed. Riley has left the tent. She didn't go very far from what I could tell from her footsteps.

Probably looking at the lake.

I didn't like her being out there alone, so I went out with her. As I got close she turned around. "Hey Jonah." She smiled.

I moonlight reflected off the water and onto her face. She looked gorgeous. "Hey Riley" I said.

"What are you doing?" I asked. "I don't know. I couldn't sleep so I came out here." She replied.

"You wanna have a fire?" I asked. "A fire?" "Yeah. It'd be fun. The 2 of us, roasting marshmallows, eating s'mores, joking around. Come on." I pleaded.

She grinned.

"Fine." She said walking over to the equipment backpack and grabbing matches.

"Grab some dry wood and newspaper." She said looking through the bag. "Okay." I said looking around.

I grabbed a bunch of branches and sticks I thought could work for the fire. Then I went to the far side of the fire pit and grabbed newspaper.

I crumpled them up and put them in various spots around the pit, after putting in the sticks.

Riley lit a match a threw it in. And the fire started. I sat on a lawn chair and she just stood and stared at the fire. "Babe, come." I said pulling her hips towards me.

She sat down on my lap and we cuddled.

We just sat there and stared at the fire, taking in the warmth. Wrapped in his arms. I felt safe.

"Are you comfy?" He chuckled. "Very." I smiled looking at him.

"We should make some s'mores." He smiled. "Yesss." I said getting up and grabbing the s'mores supplies.

We started roasting our marshmallows and eventually made a bunch of s'mores.

The rest of the night we laughed and joked around. He's just such an amazing boyfriend.
