As I close my Journal with a finishing signature at the end of my entry, I hear a sound through the intercom inside of my left ear.
"Danger, in position," I hear. It's Ruri's voice.
"God's eye, in position. Entry point is green," I hear once more from the intercom, this time it was a boy. I'm pretty sure it was Ruin's voice.
"Breakers, in position," I hear from my left side and the intercom at once. It was Kazuto radioing up to our leader like the ones before.
"All teams stand by. Go on my mark," I hear from the intercom. This was defiantly Yuuji.
While leaning slightly over a rock to get a good view of the facility, I smile wide. This is the first job I've ever been tasked with, and its to get that Bastard Boros for all he has done. Only moments left before our assault begins on these bitches, I'm so excited for it! I thought to myself with glee. What is this feeling on my shoulder?!
I break from my train of thought to turn, immediately noticing Xerthia's hand softly resting on my shoulder. She looks down to me with a soft but worried smile, perhaps she wasn't ready for this. I reach up and place my hand on hers, reassuring her with a firm and tender grip. Softly then I lean my head to my side, my cheek resting on the hand covering hers.
"Don't worry, Xerthia. When we're together, nothing can stop us,"
"You underestimate everyone... but nobody as much as yourself. Even without me, you'd be okay,"
"Without you I'd have never made it this far. Plus... I wouldn't want to do this without you,"
"You'll never have to, it's the fate you'll create; right? We will always be together,"
"Xerthia.."
With my final utterance of hope to my Contractor, the sound was heard. Without warning the call came over the intercom to all teams, ready or not. "All teams, commence Operation 35C," was the beginning of everything. In a moment my hand was off Xerthias, her hand was off me, and our team was racing forward.
I'm coming for you, Boros!
Journal entry 87
December 19th - 21st, 1698 AAThe dense forest of the outside world was not to be underestimated, many threats lies in our path. After receiving the final member of the main effort, Azura, all teams of the Advancement Force pushed forward. With Yuuji in the lead and the team leaders following we moved through the forest. There were a few faces I've never seen as part of the Advancement Force, but I could see the level of skill from them all. Azura and I must look like nothing more then newbies on their first mission away from home. Only one other member stood out to me as a noobie, I found out later his name was Sable.
The forest was a place of fear above other things, the Dreadnaughts were in high numbers there. But we were more then prepared for the danger. The Advancement Force didn't have a perfect record but it had one to be reckoned with. The smallest size team we could grab consisted of three squads and one leader, totaling into 13 people. There was the support team, the recon team, and the main effort; all lead by the leader. Azura and I are in the main effort, as well as that Quad-core Sable and our squads leader, Kazuto.
There were three sections to this forest but not too much happened on the trip, the Dreadnaughts mostly staid away from us after the first encounter. I would write down the full experience but I'm short on time. Basically it was just a lot of running and sleeping. Within the first two hours of travel we were attacked by eight of them. Three in the giant class and the rest were mid-size at best. With all thirteen of us it was a quick win, Yuuji took out most of them but Azura and I were able to get a few kills on the giant class's.
