"Kendall!" I hear behind me and loud footsteps. I look back to see the handsome Tyler running up to me. "Guh... you walk so fast."
"I just want to get away from you!" I tease, lightly hitting her shoulder. Tyler is just my height.
"Hey!" She exclaims, punching me back.
Both of us go silent to admire the beatiful cherry blossoms, blooming and floating down in the wind. Petals cover the gravel and grass as we walk to school in this calm silence of spring. I breathe in the fresh scent of flowers and trees. Her breathing soothing me.
"It's so beautiful out..." Tyler mumbles.
"I don't like it." I say quickly but quietly. Tyler stops in her tracks. I start stopping and look back at her. She gives me this cold, hard stare that I laugh at. "Sorry, sorry, I just don't like being outside." She laughs.
"I was gonna throw some cherry blossoms at you but you defended yourself too quickly!" She runs up and grabs me, making me drop my bag, which I don't really care for. "H-hey-" I began as she starts off towards the forest, dragging me behind.
"Wait, Tyler! We have school, you know!" I try yelling excuses at her. She doesn't respond as she leads me into the trees. We walk for a minute before she stops and squats to the ground. I worrily look around, trying to see if I can sneak back. She whips back up and I flinch, covering my face with my hands and almost dropping to the ground.
She laughs her hearty laugh. I slowly move my hands and open my eyes to see her holding one perfect stick and reaching another out to me. "Let's duel," she says in a menacing voice, her smile reaching her ears, showing her teeth.
"Let's not," as I take the stick and bonk her on the head."Hey!" She chirps and smacks me in the butt with her stick. I jump up and almost kick her. But before almost kicking her, I fall to the ground face first.
With a face full of dirt and leaves I feel my skirt slowly falling up my back and I pull it down at lightning speed, flipping over and trying to hide myself.
The blushing Tyler chuckles at me and holds out a hand, offering to help me up.
"Why would you do that??" I protest and flail on the ground, mocking a tantrum of a five year old.
"Well.." she starts as I snap at her. "Are you trying to see my underwear?!"
There's an awkward moment of silence between us as both of our faces boil. She tries walking around me but trips and falls directly on top of me. We have a staring contest full of shock and surprise after we smack heads. Her breath more jagged than usual. We stare into each other's eyes for a long time. Ah, why does she have to have such gorgeous eyes? Her stare tenders and she kisses my cheek before getting up and running back towards the pathway. I sit there in shock, feeling warmness and fuzzyness welling up inside as I gently touch the part of my cheeks her lips touched.
What just happened?
