I woke on the side of the road right next to a sign with big letter stating "Naples, Florida; population-308,903". Stretching became a task, seeing as the man with the beer gut threw her out like he was discarding trash. I huffed before rolling my shoulders. Time to find him.

It took me forever to find a convenient store to buy some food with the little money I had. As soon as I stepped inside, a boy around fifteen was staring at me. I grabbed what I needed and checked out, walking back into the humid air. A stinging pain hit my shoulders when someone pushed me against a wall. A guy no more than thirty had me pinned to the brick, a sickly sweet smirk tugged at his lips.

"Where you going, cutie?" My eyes widened before quickly glancing right and left to find an escape.

Sadly, I was stuck, "H-home.." The man laughed his ass off, he seemed drunk but didn't smell like it.

"The only place your going is with me." Before anything else could happen he was knocked over the head by a baseball bat. My hands dove to my lips in horror of the fifteen year old.

He blinked, "You okay, Irene?" My eyes widened as I realized who it was.

"H-hi Isaiah..." He just smiled before grabbing my hand.

His hand was warm, "Come with me, I know you're most likely here by yourself. You're really stupid to be." He lead me along the streets until we hit a beautiful house, it was small but seemed cozy.

He tugged me inside and made me wait for him to grab something. I notice he had a giant black sweatshirt in his hands along with a towel.

"Go to the bathroom and dry yourself off, then change. Okay?" I smiled before taking the clothing from him and walking to the bathroom, closing the door behind me. I locked it then stripped to my undergarments, staring at the scars in my body for a while. Then I pulled on the sweatshirt he gave me. It trailed all the way down to mid thigh, covering the scars and bruises.

When I walked out, I stepped straight into his arms, hugging him tightly. He chuckled softly and just held me close. After a while he pulled away and glared at me, then proceeded to lock himself in his room for the rest of the day. I continued to think there was something wrong with me throughout the rest of the day. When he came out it was dark, the clock read eight-thirty. He picked my drowsy self up off the couch without any word and carried me to his bed, where he left me to sleep peacefully.

"Daddy? Why are you doing this to me?" The little girl sobbed as her father repeatedly slapped and punched her wherever he could get ahold of.

He laughed evilly, "You're nothing but a worthless bitch!" It continued like that for a while, then he changed his mind and grabbed an iron.

The little girls screams filled the room as he burned her stomach with the iron. Then he left her to sob alone, curled up in a corner.

I woke up screaming and crying, my sobs softened by my hand. A light found it's way into the room and I was suddenly in someone's arms.

Isaiah...

He cradled me as I sobbed in his chest, his fingers rubbing circles in the small of my back.

"Shhhh..." He rocked me from side to side, running his fingers though my hair and continued to tell me to go back to sleep. At one point I did, and he never left me.
