Lacy's POV
We were all seated in the living room, once again caught in that awful silence. I fiddled with the hem of my school dress. I never took off my uniform...
"So... You five boys are from that band One Direction?" My Mother asked in disbelief.
"Yes. Yes we are." Harry smirked.
"We have millions of fans all over the world!" Added Louis.
"Don't forget the platnium album." Liam added. I rolled my eyes. Once again, these boys were becoming the spoilt superstars I knew.
Harry wouldn't stop staring at me. The last time his green eyes stared at me like that was...
I ran through the busy streets of London, keeping the groceries close to my chest. If I didn't get the milk back safetly for Jess, she would keep getting weaker and weaker. Last time some random guy crashed into me and the milk spilt everywhere. I didn't want that to happen again.
My skin made contact wth a hard, toned stomach. This guy has abs. I looked up, turning red.
"I-I'm sorry." I stuttered, not knowing what else to say or do, my head still pressed into his stomach. He stepped away from me.
"It's cool." He replied. He sounded like he didn't care. I stared at his green eyes. He stared back with a cool glare.
I went to run away but he grabbed my wrist and held me tight.
"What's your name?" He asked, he looked only slightly older than I was. Possibly fifteen or sixteen. He brushed a curl of hair off his face.
"Lacy." I replied quickly. He smiled.
"I'm Harry." He was still staring at me. I wiggled out of his grasp and ran towards the Orphanage.
"Meet me here tomorrow at five in the afternoon." He called out as I ran away.
"I'll be there."
I frowned. I thought he had just been curious and that's why he had stared at me, but that clearly wasn't it. Why did he stare at me like that? Why was he staring at me like that now? I started to feel self-consious.
"I'm grabbing a drink." I said, getting up and going into the kitchen. I didn't ask if anyone else wanted one. I didn't want to. I needed to think about Harry.
I used to have a little crush on him. I thought I could tell him anything but I never gave myself away.
He seemed so rich compared to me. I was scared that he would hate me for being a poor little Orphan who was already an acting parent at the grand age of thirteen.
I never told him anything.
Everyday we would meet on that busy street, sometimes he would even buy me a chocolate milkshake, and everytime I wanted to tell him all about my life, but I never did. He told me all about his life, and how he planned to go on the X-Factor. He gave me hs number. I said I lost my phone, but that I would call him when I found it.
I never even had a phone.
For all those years our relationship was based on a lie. Even if I loved him I wasn't about to tell him the truth. Our friendship would be gone if I ever told him. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water. I looked behind me. Harry was standing there.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." I replied.
"Why did you leave?" He asked, his voice full of sadness.
"Gee, it was just for water. What are you so sad about?" I frowned.
"Why did you leave London?" He asked.
"Oh, I, uh. My parents wanted to move to Australia. I had no choice." I said.
"You could've told me." He said.
"I didn't know we were leaving until I was gone." I said.
"You never called me." He said.
"I never found my phone."
"Oh, really?" He looked towards my shiny new one.
"Birthday present. I'd forgotten where I put your number."
"Excuses, excuses, excuses." He moved his pointer finger from side to side. I blushed.
"My life is full of excuses."
"ARE YOU TWO GETTING A DRINK OR DOING SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT? YOU'RE TAKING FOREVER!" Louis shouted.
"YOU BETTER NOT BE CHEATING ON ME HAZ!" He added. I laughed. It was funny.
"I wouldn't let him!" I called out as I walked back to the room.
The boys laughed. Harry blushed.
I missed Harry. I really did.
