There she lay, she was hooked up to a bunch of machines. "There's my beautiful little girly girl". She said with a soft, loving voice. "Hey mama". I said back trying not to cry. "How are you mama"? I asked even though I knew the answer. Then suddenly hey big, happy smile turned up side down, like a door was not supposed to be opened. She looked at me and sighed. "What is it mama, what's wrong". I asked frantically. She took my hand and rubbed it on her face and but it back down again. "I love you Rosanna you know that don't you"? She asked me as she looked straight into my eyes. "Yes mama I know". I said gently. "You also know everything I do is to try and protect you"? She asked. With my eyes starting to tear up I nodded and looked at the table next to her bed. "New York"! I yelled. "Why are we going to New York"!? I asked again. Once again she had that same look on her face that I had opened I door that should have not been opened. "We are not going anywhere". she said raising her voice. " I'm going to New York". She said again. "What you can't just leave like that Mom, no no no no". I yelled. As I yelled I could see her weary eyes start to water. " I have to go Ro, I need to go to a specialist". She said starting to cry. I rolled my eyes. "No mom this can't happen again I can't be just left behind not again". I yelled back. "You won't be alone you can stay with Mimi(Mimi is my grandma) or Kishma". She said. I let go of her hand picked up my bag and jacket vigorously and headed out of her room door. "Ro don't leave I'm sorry". I looked at her and put down my bag and my jacket. I grabbed her hand and hugged her tightly and then I let go grabbed my stuff again and walked out.
