Hypothesis

Pallette's POV:
Pallette had gotten the message from Chara that Cray was dead, which he thanked them for.  'now that hes out of the way, I can finally have my friend back!' he thought with a smile. It was time for the secret to spill. "Hey Goth?" Goth looked over at him. "yeah?" Pallette lost train of thought, then snapped back to reality. "Wanna go to the waterfall area?" 'damnn ittttttttt' Pallette mentally facepalmed. "sure!" Goth smiled
Once they were there, the Echo Flowers started whispering to themselves. Pallette looked at the blue flowers, trying to find the right one. 'this is stupid.' he thought, 'tons of monsters could've come by and changed up what they heard!' he sighed, and looked over at Goth who was sitting by one, listening to the conversation it had heard. 'oh come on! just tell me?' a voice asked, 'fine but promise you wont laugh.' the flower paused, then repeated its self, as if no one heard it. Pallette softly smiled, and sat down next to his friend. "Which timeline do you think that was from?" Goth asked. "probably the first, from when Asriel was still alive in UnderTale..with a fully sane Chara.." Pallette replied. "yeah.." they went quiet, as the only sound was the echo flowers mumbling to themselves, as if no one else was there to hear.

~time skip to about a month later~

Pallette took a deep breath before walking over to where Goth was reading.  "hey Goth!" he looked up from his book, which seemed to be on souls. he smiled. "hey Pallette!" Pallette was nervous, obviously, but it had to be done at some point. "Hey, I have a strange hypothesis thing I wanted to tell you." Goth's face was full of curiosity, as Pallette spoke. "OK, what is it?" "if I ask you out, then you'll say yes..?" Goth's eyes lit up, and he jumped up to hug his friend. "Of course I will silly!!!" Pallette hugged him back, and it seemed no one could bring them apart after that.
