Chapter Eight

"... And the champion of Monopoly wins again!" I boasted.

Lyle began to fake cry.

"I've lost... Goodbye world..." Lyle dramatically said while placing a hand over his heart.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry about completely crushing you. Hope you don't hate me."

"Why would I hate you?" Lyle questioned.

"... Because... Monopoly ruins friendships...?" I questioned.

Lyle laughed.

"Oh please. Nothing could make me hate you. You're too cute and sweet for me to hate you." Lyle said.

Though he quickly put his hand over his mouth after saying so.

We were both soon blushing messes.

"I'm so sorry (y/n)... I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..." Lyle apologized.

"It's fine Lyle. If it makes you feel any better, I think you're pretty cute yourself."

"You mean that?"

I smiled.

"Yep!"

Lyle soon joined me in smiling.

I then felt my phone buzzing. I quickly looked at it to see that it was from Damien.

Where are you? Group meeting is starting!

"What is it?" Lyle questioned.

"The group meeting for our group is starting... Right now..."

Lyle's face went pale.

"I'm so sorry! I held you up! At least let me walk you there! We're both going there, so I don't see why not." Lyle offered.

"It's fine. No need to apologize. And... I'd love to walk with you there." I said, reassuring Lyle with a smile.

Lyle and I then grabbed our things and raced to the meeting area. There, we found absolutely no one.

Except Damien.

"Hey Damien. Where's everyone else?" I questioned.

"They went on ahead to go do rides. I decided to wait for you so you wouldn't get lost or become confused on where everyone was." Damien explained.

I smiled.

"Thanks a lot. I appreciate that."

"Anytime. Now... If you don't mind me asking... Why're you with Lyle?" Damien questioned.

"(y/n) and I were hanging out in my room." Lyle answered.

"I see. Well, shall we go?" Damien questioned.

"Sure." I responded.

Damien then led Lyle and I to the rest of the group... Without getting lost.

Surprising.

... That's when I realized that someone was missing.

Cameron.

"Hey Damien, where's Cameron?" I questioned.

"Stayed in the room. Said he didn't want to deal with 'annoying idiots'." Damien answered.

"What a shame." Lyle said.

When we arrived at the group, we split up to go on different rides.

"So, (y/n), what rides would you like to go on first?" Damien questioned.

"Well, I was thinking of-"

Lyle cut me off by saying, "Actually, (y/n), would you mind if I go on one ride with you before you go off with Damien?"

"Uh... Sure? That okay with you Damien?" I responded.

"Sure. I'll be near the cotton candy machine if you need me." Damien said, before walking away.

"What ride do you have in mind?" I questioned.

"Close your eyes." Lyle answered.

"What kind of surprise do you have in store?" I questioned.

"Just wait and you'll see." Lyle said.

I sighed before closing my eyes, and letting Lyle lead me to a specific ride.

When we got on the ride, it felt like we were in some sort of a boat.

"Have fun." I heard someone say.

"Lyle, can I open my eyes now?" I questioned as I felt the 'boat' head off slowly.

"Just wait one second." Lyle said.

"How come-"

That's when something happened that I didn't expect.

I felt Lyle's lips place themselves on my cheek.

I opened my eyes in shock.

"... Lyle..." My voice trailed off.

"(y/n), I'm sorry, but I can't deny my feelings anymore..."

"What're you trying to say?" I questioned.

"(y/n)... I... I love you..."
