Chapter 2: Where in the World Am I?

Where in the World am I?

Makoto?

"Makoto!" I waved at him cheerfully.

"Hey there Hotaru." He responded gloomily.

"What's wrong? " I asked him. I was worried for him.

" I'm fine." He murmured.

Annoyed by his response, I raised my arm up, fists tight, and slammed down my fist to his head. He immediately groaned in pain, puckered his eyebrows and looked at me in distress.

"What'd you do that for, woman!?" He screamed at me.

"You're not fine! I'm not stupid! " I screamed back at him.

From hearing my response, he slowly calmed down and suddenly burst into laughter and after some seconds, realizing how silly our fight was, I joined the laughter which echoed around the endless white room.

As our stomachs started to get exhausted and our laughter started to diminish, Makoto and I wiped the tears of our eyes as we giggled for a few more times before completely stopping ourselves from laughing. 

"You got to go, Hotaru." He interrupted the pleasant mood I was in.

"Wait what? Go where? How am I ev-" My sentence was cut as he abruptly poked my forehead.

I instantly felt light-headed and groggy and I didn't even realize what just happened, everything just went black.

Toot. Toot. Toot. Toot. Toot.

For some reason, this sounds familiar.

This beeping sound.

It sounds just like the hospital, or maybe it is the hospital.

Is this a dream?

Aimless thoughts circled around my conscience as I felt the floating sensation in the darkness, alone and cold. 

The beeping sound was all I could hear. Nothing else.

Toot. Toot. Toot. Toot. 

Then, finally, I recognized a small dot of light. In my conscience or dream, whatever this may be, I could not control my body as much as I could in reality. In desperation, I reached out my hand as far as can hoping I would advance to the light. The light started to get bigger gradually and I gave all my effort to reach out to be pulled out of this swarm of darkness. Finally, I was as close as anybody could possibly get and I was enveloped with light and was blinded by it. After adjusting my eyes to the sunlight, I recognized I was laying down in a hospital bed. 

"Ugh I knew it." I murmured to myself in dismay.

Wait why am I here in the first place? I know nothing happened to me.

Oh god was I hit by a car that I forgot okay no don't rush to conclusions agh

Was I like hit on the head real hard?

Agh stahp this nonse---

Someone opened the door and walked in and oh my god I don't know what to say because oh shit oh my god oh shit oh my god goosebumps

It's freaking Akihito Kanbara.

"You're awake." He smiled.

He smiled at me and oh his smile oh I love his smile.
